I've been playing vinyl records since I was a kid in the 60s and have always had a high quality turntable (B&O, Sony, etc.).. But the modern world has made it so much more easy to have your music with you all the time via digital devices, so I got myself a Jensen turntable that has a USB output to create mp3 files from all those old vinyl albums I have that are out of print and not available digitally. As it turns out, the stylus that came with the turntable was not great, but what do you expect from a Jensen $70 turntable? Highs were clipping, bass was very weak, and the overall response was not much better than 'AM radio quality.' I didn't want to get a replacement 'generic' stylus that retails like avocados (4 for $10), so I got the best one available for the existing cartridge and that was this Electrohome. I freely admit the sound is still not as sweet as a B&O turntable from the 1970s, but it's not bad, and is 1000% better than what the turntable came with. So outfit your modern Crosleys and Jensens with this and you'll get better than average sound.

The needle seems to work well, however the mount for the needle is so low, that on older records that might have some bends, or aren't perfectly flat, the rest of the head will sometimes hit the record. My other record play has much more clearance and I never have to worry about that. Overall, this needle replacement seems fine, the record player from Electrohome is not very impressive, but these extra pieces seem to work as advertised. Just an annoying design choice that can ruin some experiences.

This new stylus works! The stylus that originally came with my Electrohome turntable had skipping issues, and at the time the only solution given was to place a dime on the stylus arm to add the proper weight. Great product and recommend.

The truth in advertising: I own a LO-budget Jensen turntable, which still does wonderful work for the price point. The needles I have purchased for it, however, are fitful. They give me skips on new and unused vinyl which is beyond frustrating. They are also at a significantly lower price point than these. Enter these babies: exit the skips. I don't like spending more than I have to on anything, ever - but these are so worth it. No more unexplained skipping. Buy them now; thank me later.

I honestly didn't think that replacing the needle would help much since my old needle wasn't that old. But golly gee did it ever! Changing the needle was my last resort and I wish I would have done it first instead of wasting my money on other sound solutions.

I don't have a name brand record player.. It's a knock off Crosley made by American Heritage (then, sold at Target stores). I have struggled to find a needle that looked like the one that it has. I purchased this product b/c it matched my current needle EXACTLY and when I received it, it looked nothing like the needle here. Even still, I tried installing this product on my player. The fitment was ok, and it attached but it would not play correctly at any speed. This product has been updated and Electrohome has not updated their website or amazon to reflect their updated needle. I then contacted Electrohome and they explained to me that they have updated the needle and no longer sale these. Chances are their newer version doesn't work with the same amount of older players. So don't purchase this if you're expecting what's pictured. On to the return process.... (Update 12/24/15) Looks like they've finally updated the picture at least. Bumped from 1 to 3 stars. Works as it should! Good instructions on how to change it out as well. I have a discontinued electrohome record player but this still works, which was a relief.

First of all I didn't recall buy this as it was so long ago but I did buy this for my Father's record player. It fit perfectly. Now he was able to play his records.
