Q: Is there a way to get a longer cable for the wires?

The wires can be extended with standard alarm wire.

Q: can I use this for a 120 volt circuit, or is this low voltage only?

Low voltage, 24 ga. Wires. If you use a transformer like a doorbell transformer, it probably will work as it will be 17 vAC for that. I used it for a shut off of my garage heater so it shuts the heat off if the door opens until it lowers again.

Q: How can I wire this to turn on a light when the garage door is open (magnet away from switch)? Use a bus bar & relay?

This is just a 2 wire sensor... so yeah, you'd definitely need a relay for the light. Then a way to trigger the relay when certain conditions are met. You could easily do that using a MIMO (multi input multi output) device and some kind of automation software. I'm using this with a Z-wave MIMO - the Zooz 700 is a solid one too if you're into that. But if you're looking to do this kind of stuff, i would recommend just using automation software like Home Assistant or something like that.

Q: What is the lowest DC voltage that this switch will operate at?

We asked the manufacturer and they replied: "That is a passive magnetic contact. So when the magnet comes near the switch it flips state. So it can do real low voltage."
