The jar arrived very well protected from shipping disasters. The chutney is delicious. If you like a touch of spiciness you will like this chutney

This has just the right amount of heat (sweet/medium), and lots of mango fruity goodness! I was a bit wary of ordering it because I read some reviews stating that the jar arrived damaged or leaking. My jar was wrapped up like Fort Knox! A box inside of another box, and all covered with a ton of bubble wrap! I love this with samosas, and if you like Coronation Chicken Salad, this is the perfect chutney for spicing it according to the original recipe. It's also a good foil for baked Brie en croute. I will definitely order it again, as Indian foods are scarce where I live.

The hot mango chutney I've been having got a little too hot for me, so I thought I'd try this. It's great! I have it with all our Indian dinners.

Horrible flavor!!! Luckily, I tasted it then threw it away before I ruined my main dish I had intended to use it in. I loved Cross & Blackwell's Major Grey chutney but cannot find it here or in my grocery anymore. This chutney is a definite "No!"

Fewer spices, more sugar; the preservative taste is very strong. It could be better if more spices were added. Bengali chutneys and pickles have some characteristic spices added to them to make them flavorful and "Bengali" like black mustard and a mixture of five spices colloquially known as "panch phoron." I was looking forward to those but was disappointed...also, green chilies are a must for Bengali-syle pickles and chutneys, those are missing too.
