I found this to be poorly researched. What is worse, everything is tailored to fit preconceived beliefs.Read the works of Meenakshi Jain, K.S. Lal and Sita Ram Goel for a better understanding and more objective view.

Though limited by the scope of its title itself,one felt that much more could have been researched.The agenda also seems to have been set before writing the book.To blame the English for more than they were responsible for.a "we vs they' spirit seems to have energised much of our expression of discontent in history and continues unabated today.The Hindutva Brigade seems to be finding ever newer ways to spread this otherness in the field of writing,painting,singing(witness the recent assault on Mudgal),cinema and everyday life.Were these also a result of British machinations?Pandey definitely does not make a good enough case of it.
