I have wanted to obtain a 1/16 model of the Elephant for quite some while. I did not want to build myself but something that I could develop and upgrade through painting adding some further details. This model fitted the bill. It is expensive but I was willing to pay for this as I had been searching for quite some time.The vehicle arrived before the designated time and thankfully it arrived in a strong box. I say this because to my horror the delivery service had left the box upended by my front door but more importantly, there was major damage that had occurred to the box. The box was of sturdy cardboard construction and the vehicle had been well supported inside the box. I view that the damage could only have happened during transit even though the package was marked as being fragile. Having inspected the vehicle it was okay and the box had been the item that had absorbed the damage. If I was the supplier I would look at changing my delivery agent. The firm that they are using I have had problems with before and are an organisation that I would never use as they from past experience they lose or deliver damaged items.As said, the vehicle was undamaged and operates quite well. I will now work to upgrade and improve the vehicle so as to provide a more realistic display model (I do not use or class these as toys). I started this work yesterday evening and this was to remove the infrared battle unit mounting connection which is fitted in the commander's cupola. This fitting sits high and because of it, the cupola lid cannot be closed. As I did not need this item I have now re-located the connection and the cupola lid can be closed. Another niggling thing is that the vehicle does not come with a battery (transit problems? I suspect this is the case) or charger and the instructions are inaccurate (the on/off switch is in a different location etc.) hence I have given this 4 stars rather than 5. If I am paying this type of money then there should be some attention to these details made. It is below the standard of the Heng Long and Torro vehicles but is a good enough vehicle that can be developed.My advice to the supplier is; CHANGE YOUR DELIVERY AGENT, apart from that I would recommend.
