Replaced Unit After 4 yrs 1.5 Mos - STILL 5 stars!!
Had 1st unit in Heavy Duty Thick Walled Cast Aluminum Mailbox for 49.5 months (4 years, 1-1/2 months !!). Replaced it this month (January 2020) as it seemed to get "flaky" - the range became shortened so i thought. Thus I bought a replacement then tested new vs old transmitters (part installed in mailbox) and their receivers (part installed indoors) and did a range test (distance). Repeatedly the original unit failed to receive a signal beyond 23 feet. Batteries were new Energizer - not lousy off brand junk. New unit passed with flying colors. Conclusion - suspect original transmitter suffered a degradation in ability to communicate. Stuff happens.Replacement unit working just fine. - life is good again! Now here's the cool part ............I reprogrammed the original receiver to work in concert with the replacement mailbox transmitter (& new receiver) and positioned the old receiver FURTHER away in our kitchen. Yep, works great. BOTH units receive just fine and therefore provide great coverage within an 80 foot long home !!If you do not get one of these ... keep trudging to your mailbox to see if (Ala Tom Hanks) ... "You've got mail!"

Great, simple security system
I LOVE this security system. First, there is NO monthly payment which means there is no "service" to pay for. You get control of your system. Sometimes you just want the extra comfort to know you're safe, even if you think your dogs *might* scare someone away. The system allows you to put these sensors on any door or window They are SUPER easy to install and set up with the app. Each sensor has double sided foam tape to adhere the sensors to the door frames (ours are 10 months old and they have stayed on) or you can screw them into the door frame. I prefer the foam tape so I don't have to worry about holes. You can set up notifications on your phone for every time the door or window is opened/closed and then for other components that go with these sensors. The nice thing too is you can find a time stamped log of every time your door/window was opened and closed. You cannot use these sensors alone. You must get the hub for them to communicate to. The cost is reasonable enough for me to get sensors for all the exterior doors (we have multiple) and then purchase other extra components as well.

Good product works as it should
Had a little concern with the range. After about 30 feet signal was lost. This is a brick and steel house and I understand signal penetration maybe an issue but its basically an open plan house with minimal partitions between base and sensor. I have have wireless sensors that work little better in the same environment. To solve I had to elevate the base unit to about 7 feet.

Great little system
Have this system for my home. Full setup took 39 minutes for garage door, 5 doors/windows and a lamp. Incredibly simple. Let’s me know via my iPhone when any are opened. Went on a week vacation and didn’t have to worry someone was at the house. Bought a set for my son’s apartment too. Use removable “command” type tape for sensors and the whole system can move with you from place to place.

Work great but
The biggest mistake you can make with these are using cheap batteries. Buy some Duracell AAA so they don't leak and damage the sensor. Otherwise no issues. I live in a high humidity area so i sprayed the board with non conductive sealer also. Just make sure you don't spray the battery contacts.

I like it.
Easy to install works the way it's supposed to. Works on our system. Can be used on a window or a door.

Well-priced door sensors and system
Works great. We've used these for over 2 years indoors and outdoors without replacing the batteries. We use these with the Skylink SK-150 Basic Starter Kit that has a hub and some Skylink cameras. When I bought the system in Oct 2015, this was the cheapest DIY system I could find. Some of the others had monthly fees or $30+ sensors (I paid $20/each for this sensor). For installation, the original sticky backs are strong. They stayed up about a year and then we had to pull some of them off when we were getting our door frames and fence replaced. To install the sensors again, we bought some double-sided sticky tape. We screwed one of the sensors to the door frame and that worked well too.The push notification is nice. If I'm at work and the notification goes, I can look on the cameras. The log of when the door sensors were triggered is handy too.

A low cost door sensor that does the job!
Considering that I paid a lot more for a commercial alarm companies door sensors this unit does the job without any problems. With Skylink you can add and program each sensor on your iPhone or iPad.With the commercial alarm company you need to have a Tech come to your house and program the sensor. Getting an appointment is also a chore, just getting them on the phone is terrible and they are one of the major Phone/TV/Alarm companies in may area . Now I can now expand my alarm system at any time without adding extra time and effort. It only takes about 10 to 15 minutes to install the sensor and in some cases less then that. Programming is easy once you have mastered the instructions. So now it only takes about 5 minutes to configure a Skylink door sensor.Last point: If you're a DIY person and have the ability to learn new things I highly recommend getting a Skylink starter system and install it a long side your commercial alarm system. It won't take you that long to see how flexible this system is. Within a week to two you may decide to cancel your old system. Just remember that this is a self monitoring alarm system and its up to you to keep a close eye on your phone alerts.

Basic door alarm
I have one of these installed on every exterior door and window in my home. They're very basic, but they usually work well as long as the batteries aren't drained. The alarm works with magnets, so when the magnets are pulled apart (door is opened), then it triggers the alarm to go off, or chime. The batteries last for a few months, and the Skylink monitor usually alerts me when the battery is low. The reason for the low rating is because support isn't great. I contacted them a few times about an issue that I was having with my alarm base, and they took a long time to respond (a few weeks, and I had to send a follow-up email). I also like these because I can manage my alarm system by myself, without paying a monthly subscription to a monitoring company. This feature isn't good for everybody, but if you're looking for a basic security alerting system, then give these a try.
