KUL ES-87 Smoke (Limited) Tenkeyless Mechanical Keyboard (Cherry MX Blue)

I wanted to love this keyboard because it has all of the features I'm looking for.Pros:- Excellent build quality- Dip switches for hardware-level remapping of keys (eg: swapping of caps lock with control)- Extra Caps Lock and Control keycaps for those that swap these keys- Detachable USB cable with cable routing on the underside of the keyboard- Various Cherry MX switch optionsCon:- Cherry stabilizers in the extended keys (shift, space bar, enter, backspace)The use of Cherry stabilizers is not a negative on its own. It's the pairing of Cherry stabilizers, MX Blue switches, and my typing style (frequently bottoming out) which is the problem. As characteristic of Cherry stabilizers, pressing any of the extended keys feels spongy when bottoming out. The feel is vastly different from the non-stabilized keys which bottom out crisply (at least on MX Blues). This tactile asymmetry was just too distracting for me, and I ultimately returned the keyboard.If you don't bottom out when typing or are interested in the MX Clear version of this keyboard, you're not likely to notice the stabilizers. If you're someone like me who bottoms out frequently, you'll probably be happier with keyboards that use wire, aka Costar, stabilizers.I wish Amazon's rating system wasn't so simplistic. In every other aspect, this keyboard and the company deserves 5 stars.

I'm thrilled with this keyboard ...the keys are deliciously perfect, and I'm very happy to have received an item in which care and pride was obviously taken in it's production. I am so tired of all the cheap Chinese crap companies are mass producing for their own profit at the cost of the environment, and resources wasted in their production. A long time ago, I made a decision to never buy anything of low quality again. If I do not have the money for something new, then I will seek the item used. This KUL-87 keyboard, is not only high quality, but well priced. I feel I was given a fair deal, and the keyboard is a joy to type on. Thank you! I hope this company makes lots of money. You deserve it.

This is a great, well-built keyboard. It's almost shocking to pull it out of the box and realize just how heavy it is -- you can tell it's a sturdy, solid piece of hardware. The Cherry MX Blue key switches feel amazing, and are a delight to type on. The standard ANSI key layout makes changing keycaps easy if that's your thing, but the board looks great as it is, especially with the white top case ( ). I had read that this keyboard, like the Filco Majestouch, can sometimes suffer from "pinging" when pressing the keys, but mine doesn't do that at all.

High quality build construction.Works great, much preferred over my membrane keyboard.Switched a bit "soft" for me, but that's my problem.

I purchased this thanks to a recommendation from a friend.It works good. Just a little noisy (which I have expected).

Excellent tactile feedback for users who spend a lot of time on a keyboard.
