The Hat Depot Cotton Stone-Washed Safari Wide Brim Foldable Double-Sided Sun Boonie Bucket Hat

Just received today, tried it on and it is true to size. I have a size 7-3/4 head and out of the package it was pretty floppy and almost loose, so I gave it a quick wash in lukewarm water and dried it with some heat. I wanted to shrink it a little, and it did but feels like a great fit for my big head. The brim is a bit wider than I thought it would be, measures out to 3".It will work great for protection from the sun and be a hat I'd wear camping or outdoor events. Good cotton feel after the wash....it's a keeper.

It's not you--it's me. Yeah, I must have a funny-shaped head or something. I have a very hard time finding hats that fit my head. It could be because I have an unusually large brain and skull to accommodate. . . who knows. Anyway, the cotton fabric is lovely, the color is faded for the worn look, the grommets were good quality. The circumference fit my head fine, and in fact, the L/XL was just slightly big (I normally wear 7 3/8 or 59 or 23 inch), so that wasn't the problem. The problem for me was the depth of the crown. It just felt like it didn't come down low enough on my head. I want my hats to sit just below the bulge in the back of my skull and still come down to just above my eyebrows. This was much too shallow for that. Again, I think it is just my head, but wearing this felt like the hat was sitting on my head, not hugging my head, if that makes any sense. My search for a hat that properly fits my likely deformed head continues. . . .

The product is as described, is of good quality, and certainly going to get the job done for hiking or working in the yard. The fabric is a khaki cotton, of twill weave it appears, and a weight comparable to that used in a light pair of pants. The chins strap and closer is excellent. However, I was expecting a heavy canvas, heavy enough to keep its shape in heavy winds - such as in sailing. This fabric is not stiff enough to stay out of my eyes unless I snap the sides up to create the stiffness required. For me, this is my only complaint.

Really nice hat. well made. Nice thick cotton. Got it for my husband's birthday and he loves it. I have another one on the way in pigment olive. I will be purchasing a few more before summer kicks off and all my colors are sold out. Again, really nice hat. You won't be disappointed

Loved the first so bought another. Great fit and super comfortable thanks to 100% cotton. My go to hat for sun protection and sweat absorption. washes well…I just let it air dry. It also looks great!

This item did not have a draw string attached. I ordered a new hat. The hat fits great, but the photo of the hat doesn't match the product I received.

As a serious gardener, I'm claiming this hat to be my all time favorite. Strong words for a little cotton hat. The S/M size runs true. I wear a small Stetson and this hat is slightly big but my pony tail fills the slack. It has "grommeted" ventilation holes with screening small enough to keep the biting gnats out of my hair. The brim is wide to shade my eyes and it is holding up to machine washing and drying; must haves for a hot humid environment. Really appreciate this hat and ordered a second one.

This hat keeps the sun off my head. Travels very well.
