MicroLux ML4000DBK 7-Stage UV Ion Air Purifier with Remote, Black Finish

I had tried Ecoquest purifier and loved how it worked but zero of their products lasted very long at all and cost three times as much. This is very similar. Looks to be built better. I LOVE the job it does. I am currently using this in the basement because in spite of using a dehumidifier there is a musty smell. I am asthmatic and have had a terrible time getting it in control. My major allergy in testing was to molds. Well, yeah, especially if there is constant exposure to it. A normal air purifier with just a hepa filter isn't going to touch it. I bought this. I wanted the ozone technology and the different way it purifies the air because it WORKS. I keep my cleaning supplies on shelves that are in the basement stairs. (yes very old victorian house) Every time I open the door it just smells fresh now. Thank you thank you. My asthma has taken a real turn around. I rarely need an inhaler now where before I was using it all day (yes I know I shouldn't).I appreciate that the price is 1/3 of what Ecoquest was. If you use this in your living area space you don't even need the extra ozone feature. It does smell like 'swimming pool' when you use it. It is said to sanitize all areas so it could have its uses in a bathroom or kitchen area. I find that just is normal air purifier mode is magic.I will buy more. Handling the basement is a huge project but its not a problem at all for this machine. I had the ecoquest in the kitchen and it kept the kitchen smells to a zero. I loved that. I will buy another MicroLux to put in the kitchen.The size was not a shock to me because it was the same as the other one I had but I don't find it to be that big or heavy. Its all relative I guess. It is about a foot tall but that fits anyplace.I can't recommend this enough. Proof positive to me how much my asthma has improved and this is all I did different. I will no longer live without this machine!

I have never owned an air purifier before so I have nothing to compare it against but so far I am very happy with this unit. It seems sturdy and does everything it's supposed to do. I can definitely tell the air is cleaner whenever I walk inside the house. The only complaint I have is that whoever wrote the "user guide" must be an evil creature who hates people and wants to see them suffer. I have never been subjected to a more exasperating and useless operators manual than this one. I kept looking around for another pamphlet because I was sure I had not yet found the actual operator's manual as the one I was looking at was so ridiculously lacking in instructions. Also, I did NOT receive the extra HEPA filter that was offered in the description.Update: About a week ago I called the MicroLux Service Number (800-629-3325 - that someone else had provided in an earlier comment) to ask about the extra HEPA filter that was missing from my order. The operator was polite and said she'd see what could be done but didn't make any promises. I honestly didn't think I'd receive it. Today the extra HEPA filter arrived on my doorstep. I was pleasantly surprised, especially since some of the comments here indicated having no such success.I am still quite happy with the unit.

When they work they work well. Yes, the price is great. I have three. They worked about two years.They then began to fail.Expect zero Customer service for these units. I don't mean 'hard to find'. Or 'not helpful'. I mean none. Nada.They come with a manual with 'part numbers' for all types of replacement parts. Yet as far as I can tell from googling them they do not exist. When completely dead the troubleshooting guide advises you to change the fuse along with helpful tips on how to do it.Sorry, no fuse here to replace. The fuse is much like trying to get support for the units. It just ain't there.As I said before. Price is great, when units are working they are great. But it is very doubtful I will buy them again because of the fact that there is no way to service them.

The ceramic plate for ozone inserts in the slot, perpendicular to the other filters. You need to know this because pictures and instructions are very poorly done on the brochure to this wonderful air purifier. I have recommended this product to several friends already.

I really like the MicroLux, it cleans the air and leaves you feeling good about it. I now have three of them (in different places.) They work exactly as described, produce plenty of ozone if you want it. I wouldn't buy any other kind.

This is a 5 STAR product, with only one (nit-picky) drawback. The backlight on the screen is very bright for use in a dark room (bedroom at night) and lights up the entire room. The manual says the brightness is adjustable/optional but this does not appear to be the case.Everything else works as well or better than advertised!

I have used off and on for a month and the filters don’t look at all dirty. Not sure if it does much
