It draws in the Goldfinches!
The media could not be loaded. On very rare occasions, I’d see a Goldfinch flit through the yard, so I knew they were around. Made me think of my mother who used to call them “Wild Canaries” many years ago.I wanted a food to draw them in so I could see them more often. They weren’t interested in the plain thistle or Nyjer seed at all. Audubon Park Songbird Selections 11976 Finch and Small Songbird Wild Bird Food does the trick! It also helps that the food is in a squirrel-proof feeder so the birds have a chance to actually eat it!As you know, squirrels will empty a feeder in no time while they destroy the feeder. They don’t even seem to care what kind of seed it is, as long as they can HAVE IT ALL, and keep the birds away. This feeder -- Squirrel Buster Finch Squirrel-proof Bird Feeder w/4 Metal Perches & 8 Feeding Ports, 2.4-pound Thistle/Nyjer Seed -- has thwarted the squirrels! No, they aren’t starving. They can eat the seed that falls to the ground. So, yes, I would recommend this seed to attract Goldfiches, along with House Sparrows, Purple Finches, and other little birds I haven’t managed to identify yet.The video is a bit dark and not the best quality, but it shows the Goldfinches on the feeder. I have it suspended from a branch in a very large spruce tree to try and protect the little birds from the hawks that live in the area..

A great product
The birds in my backyard (Northeast US) are loving this bird seed! We’ve had a dramatic increase in bird “traffic” ever since we started using it. I particularly recommend this to anyone who, like myself, has teetered on the boundary of casual birder and full-fledged crazy bird lady (or man). Yes, it’s time to take the plunge! You’re a crazy bird lady now. Embrace it.I recently put up a bird feeder in my yard for the first time ever after 5 years living here, and purchased this seed to fill it. Within 7 days, we spotted chickadees, dark-eyed juncos, house finches, song sparrows, a wren, a starling, and a white-breasted nut-hatch in the area. They were either perched on the feeder or foraging on the ground below. A few days later, a vocal blue jay and a male and female cardinal pair started hanging out nearby too. It’s so much fun to watch, and I like to think I’m helping these little ones survive through the difficult winter months. My husband now laughs at me standing in front of our family room window scoping out the feeder with a pair of binoculars, but I can’t help myself — there’s so much to see. He said to me that next thing you know I’m going to be giving them names and adopting them, but I reassured him that that would be absurd and would never happen. I just think all of these birds finding a way to coexist is mesmerizing to watch! We do have a resourceful squirrel that takes more than his fair share of this seed, so I’ve had to refill fairly often, but I don’t mind.In my opinion, this product has been well worth the higher price point. Highly recommend. Also, don’t tell my husband, but the cardinals’ names are Michael and Harriet.

The birds go CRAZY for this stuff!
I was buying a smaller bag of the same brand but a different mix. The birds loved it but I ended up with a bunch on the ground. I bought the 12 lb. bag of this mix and now have a bazillion birds. They absolutely love this stuff and I don't see the waste on the ground. My only problem is that I need more and it's suddenly not available in the 12 lb. bag. I only see the little 4 lb bag for a stupidly high price. The last few times I bought this it was $22 for 12 lbs. Now all I see is 4 lbs. for $18.54. Not happening. I hate to disappoint all of the birds but I'll have to wait for the larger bag to return - hopefully at a reasonable price - or try to find something else. It's really too bad as I've never seen so many birds gobbling so much before.

Bird's love it!!
It's the perfect mix- honestly it looks good enough to eat. We also put a little try out for the chipmunks and they go -nuts- for it. Have repurchased several times. Oh and it smells good!! (Probably because the ingredients are real)

Best seed Birds love it
i have several kinds of seed out for many types of bird here in the East. This is the most popular seed i have ever put out. Not only the finches and other small birds love it, but also the cardinals and other medium size birds flock to this feeder. The doves eat the seed that drops from the ground. The birds are now ignoring their nyler seed tube feeder and go to this one instead. Just a regular plastic feeder that i got from Tractor Supply that has a little platform that the seeds set on and they come and sit in it and eat. LOL

Economical and our wild bird friend love it!
I was initially concerned that this mix would mostly find its way to the ground, but surprisingly it has attracted a number of finches, cardinals, doves, and other song birds. And the best part? As far as wild bird food goes, it is very economical!
