TETON Sports Deer Hunter Sleeping Bag, Warm and Comfortable Camping Sleeping Bag, Teton Tough Canvas Shell for Camping, Hunting, and Cold Weather

I’m an Assistant Scout Master for our BS troop, and I’ve been struggling for years to get a good night’s sleep during our camping trips, especially in the colder months here in AZ. My old Costco sleeping bag has served me for over a decade, but it was definitely time for an upgrade. I decided to try the TETON Sports Deer Hunter Sleeping Bag, and oh man — this was the best outdoor sleep I’ve had in a long time.We recently camped at the Flagstaff Lava River Tube, and the temperature dropped to 32°F overnight. I was in my tent alone, wearing just a shirt and joggers — no socks, no extra layers — and this bag kept me perfectly warm and comfortable the entire night. The Teton tough canvas shell and insulation really do their job.Yes, the bag is pricey and honestly a bit outside my original budget, so I hesitated at first. But after experiencing how well I slept, I can say it’s absolutely worth it for the quality and warmth you get.Just one note:I do not recommend this for backpacking — it’s bulky and definitely designed for car camping, hunting trips, or cold weather base camps.If you want reliable warmth and true comfort in cold conditions, this sleeping bag delivers.

These are what sportsman wh used to sell as their -35 degree sleeping bag. I’ve still got mine from 2000. I use it at least a quarter of the year. They wash well and don’t tear or snag. Dry them til they get fluffy and then hang it to dry the rest of the way. Wrap it with a tarp to keep moisture from the dew and wind from blowing through (winds over 35 mph will suck a little heat out.) I’ve slept very well in -20 in it with no clothes on and one leg peeking out to keep cool.It’s such a good bag I bought them for both my kids as well.They can be hard to roll up, but still much easier than a canvas bedroll, are just as warm or warmer, and are smaller and lighter.. if you can get it rolled up.Give the zipper a good spray with dry silicone to ease entry and maintain waterproofing at the zipper.Side note: they are big enough that even a 6’ 240 lb man can have a girlfriend or a furry pet who decides it’s to damn cold outside in there and not be like sardines.

Teton is one of my favorite outdoor brands. They make the best sleeping bags for the money. This model in particular is super heavy duty and super heavy. But it is insanely warm and really durable drive up camping.

Excellent bag well worth the money! Forget about the cheaper quality Colman and Stansport brands that have weak insulation and seams that are already splitting out of box! THIS is the real deal! This is my second bag. The first one like it I've used weekly and most days of the week as a trucker. When I was long haul I used it everyday as a bag or pillow top mattress top in summer. My original purchase I've used since 8/2017 and I would STILL be using it if I hadn't burned it in a large size commercial dryer! 😩😩😩😩😩😩 I always washed and dried at a coin op laundry but all the EXTRA LARGE dryers were in use so I tried a large size dryer. Bad choice. I loved tgat bag, so warm and soft with that flannel yet well made to with stand daily use. If you're shopping fir one fir regular use you'll be happy with this bag. If you're buying it for occasional yearly camping trips then your kids will get it after you kick off because it'll still be working great ! I once broke down on interstate 80 in between Cheyenne and Laramie Wyoming and since the truck wouldn't run i had no heat. It was January and the Wyoming winds had it down to NEGATIVE 20 DEGREES Fahrenheit with the wind chill! I had to wait a few hours fir a tow truck but my dog and I were saved and stayed warm inside this bag until the wrecker arrived. Im telling you, the bag kept us WARM in those life threatening temps. This bag is the real deal. Don't be a cheap skate, pony up the extra coin and ypu won't be disappointed. REMEMBER, DRY IN EXTRA LARGE DRYER OR HANG TO DRY ONLY!!!! BTW, this is NOT a back packing bag, its ideal for vehicular camping, bunk house or cabin or hunting camp tent situation. Heavy as he'll so not something to tote on your back. Did I mention this bag is excellent? Lol!

I purchased the -35° bag. Finally got this monster of a bag into the woods for a test run. It's large and bulky, but it's surprisingly lighter than expected. Packing it in the woods on my back was easy, I used the carrying straps on the storage bag (backpack style). The temperature the first night was in the mid teens and single digits the second night. I slept on a canvas sleeve with a foam pad between the bag and canvass and a wool blanket on top for backup and a little protection from popping embers from the fire. Each night I slept in designated thermals just for sleeping, fresh wool socks, and a thin winter hat. I could not be more pleased with the bag. As soon as my body heated the bag it was like someone turned on the furnace. I slept a solid 8hrs each night. No chills, no cold spots, no getting up and restocking the fire. Plenty of room to roll over and spread out inside this bag. Plenty of room to store and warm extra clothes for the next day. I haven't taken the bag to the -35° limits, as I will rarely see that kind of cold, but I'm confident that with the right clothes on and setup that this bag could definitely serve you well in those temps.

Very comfortable. Keeps me really warm in very cold weather.

Only bag to have if you hunt Elk in the NW.I got so lazy once I got this bag I stopped using my wood stove on most nights and just kick on the Buddy heater in the morning. Beats tending to the wood stove in the middle of the night. Teton makes the best gear period and is a great company with top notch customer service. I use thier pad, cot and tent combo when its just me or for off road adventure camping and I use the cot, pad, bag combo in our canvas tent for Deer and Elk hunting every year and couldn't do without it.When I bring this thing camping in the summer I just sleep on top as added cusion. Deer hunting it is simply too warm but instead of buying a milder bag I just sleep with the top pulled back. Everyone in our hunt party has one of these and one of my notiriously cheap buddies finally bought one and knows it was the best money he has spent on gear to enjoy the outdoorsI have slept in -8 F weather at 6500ft and had to kick off my socks and find them in the morning in the vast space no joke.I get claustrophobic in small bags and this thing has room for doing snow angels. This is not a backpacking bag obviously as weightwise it is massive WHICH makes me love it even more. I could go on about the things that make this a great bag such as:Stash Pockets, durable materials, 17lb!!!!beast, solid oversized zippers, Included duffel bag and built in straps that make breaking camp and rolling up your bag so easy because it will fit no matter how lazily you rolled it up it after a long hunt actually it stows better the bigger you leave it.The best money spent in life is anything that helps you enjoy the outdoors more with your family and this is money well spent.

I was super excited to get this -35 degree sleeping bag moving to Michigan living in a cabin that's not all that well insulated and I know power outages happen and if something went South I wanted to be ready for it and this sleeping bag exceeds all my expectations. With that being said I haven't got to use it but it is by far the nicest sleeping bag I've ever owned and I don't think I'll ever need another one except as a backup for the car.Oh and just let me say the duffel bag that comes with it you could easily spend 20 to 50 bucks on that alone.but let me tell you it is a huge sleeping bag and when I say huge .I mean huge,but that's perfectly fine I'm not going backpacking with it it's for emergency cold weather preparedness.And any fun cold weather outdoor camping or events as well..Let me tell you I was a little concerned. I was just praying that I wouldn't get one that was used or dirty or ripped it was 110% perfect, package perfect brand spanking new I'm impressed with Teton sports.Looking forward to shopping with them as needed for quality outdoor gear!!!!!Even though I probably won't get to use it that often . I couldn't feel more secure with winter coming up here in a couple of months being in Michigan knowing that we have power outages hell it's the middle of summer and we've already had one.Okay I'm not reviewing Michigan's electrical grid.I'm reviewing this sleeping bag all I can say is I've been shopping on Amazon for a long time and I have never been more pleased with a purchase then this Teton -35° sleeping bag,,,,, even though my Mr Heater Portable Buddy propane heater gives it a very close second but with that being said if you got room for it and need cold weather sleeping bag you cannot go wrong with this one!!!!!In closing absolutely exceeded all expectations 110%.I would recommend this to my son, in a heartbeat and will be unless I just decide to buy him one for Christmas!As you can see in the pictures it's also larger than a Trin size bed

Really big and comfortable. Well made quality product. Really warm. I lent it to a friend and he is now going to buy one. You don't feel constricted in it. It is really roomy.This is not made for hiking. It is way to heavy. This is for when you drive to a camp site and pitch a tent or go to a hunting cabin. Really well made.

the best sleeping bag I have ever owned I’m a big guy 6’1” 300 lbs and I fit in this no problem with room to spare and it’s soooo warm I ended up buying another for my wife.Long term results- still one of the best and warmest and comfortable bags I’ve ever had. Well done TETON

Bought the -18*C rated bag. Very good quality bag, inside is soft, bag is warm. Research what temperature you will actually use the bag at. I tested this one down to -4*C and was very comfortable. I don’t plan on sleeping in much colder than that, if you do then buy the colder rated Teton sleeping bag. I enjoyed the draw string around the head area, it kept the bag shaped at the top to keep my heat in and my pillow secure. The brown water resistant shell worked well too alongside a cold wet tent wall, it did not absorb any water on the 7 nights I tented outside with this bag. ***Long term update - been using this for 5 years worth of hunting trips now and no regrets. Still functions like new.
