Fine except
You can't adjust the volume of the ringer. The sound on the handset can be raised or lowered, and it's really helpful. But it's weird you can't turn down the ringer and when the phone rings I'm sure my neighbors must think it's some kind of alarm! It's LOUD.

Answer machine
It was while I was charging the batteries that I realised this phone does not have an answer machine? I took it for granted that a phone costing £80.00 would automatically have an answering machine. I have scored it 3 points because I have not used the phone, it is being returned tomorrow.

Excellent sound for hard of hearing persons like me.
I bought this to replace an Amplicon phone that never worked properly after my dogs knocked a glass of water over it! I have significant hearing loss but can hear well with this phone even if I'm not wearing hearing aids. The sound is very adjustable and clear, and the ringer volume good and loud. Live that it's cordless - should stop the dogs repeating the water trick!

Brilliant reception.
As I am hard of hearing I find the plus button very useful.

Great phone
Bought for elderly relative whose hearing is declining. As long as she remembers to press the Volume Boost button each time, she can use this phone perfectly. What a shame the volume boost resets to normal after each use. It would be so much better if the setting was saved. Otherwise, it’s avgreat phone that works exactly as described.

Not Satisfactory at all.
I bought this for a friend even more elderly than I and finding technical gadgets difficult.. I read all the reviews and spent a week checking phones for seniors on the market..none are simple enough..none really well thought out for seniors likely to have arthritic fingers..I bought this in desperation..it had 4.5 out of 5 stars.it is an expensive phone but very frustrating in parts...The volume control on the side exactly where its held so buttons easily accidentally pressed...And so annoying that the volume button has to be pressed every time. This is being forgotten.. I listened to an answering service recorded message without pressing the button so it was at half level..even with my hearing aids in I couldnt hear a thing. Could just hear it at full volume but quite a strain..so that aspect is very disappointing.. Also we can't clear the screen..its telling us there are two missed calls..I have pressed all the buttons and read the instructions three times and it doesn't tell me how to do this..my friend seems to be coping.... just. But had I bought it for myself I would have sent it back and bought one at half the price which I am sure would be just as good...there is a huge gap in the market for really simple..easy..loud phones for us to use!!!My home phones are corded and excellent..but I am still mobile.. those who are not fast on their feet getting to a phone need cordless and they all seem pretty pathetic...We can not see how to delete missed calls...Peter answered my question but described a phone with red button bottom left which you pressed..the phone delivered has no red button but a speaker button there...I begin to wonder if the instructions are not referring to the phone I bought for my elderly friend..its a disaster.
