MyStudio® MS20LK 5000K Fluorescent Photo Lighting Kit for MyStudio® MS20 Table Top Photo Studio Lightbox

The quality of the light fixture couldn't be made any more cheap. The setup directions are not very clear and I ended up with extra screws as a result. The lighting itself is ok when in actual use. I am just steamed with how much I paid and the super poor quality of the overall manufacturing of the product. I broke the plastic cover for the bulb because there are no directions on how to remove it and it's basically so frail that it nearly crumbles. Definitely not worth the money I paid for it.

I use this light along with the tabletop seamless light. It works great, really brings out my small parts that are difficult to photograph. Easy set-up in a few minutes. I have it mounted to a tabletop as we use it in a permanent "photo studio" in the office. Great for small companies and internet retailers.

If you don't have a seamless background then I suggest getting the whole photo studio  MyStudio® MS20 Professional Tabletop Photo Studio Kit w/ 5000K Continuous Lighting for Product Photography, 20x20x12 inches , but if you are just looking for a controlled and even light for small products then this is a great solution. The fluorescent light is cool and the combination of the overhead reflector and the movable side reflectors make it possible to create pleasing, even light on small objects. Much better than the harsh look you usually get with a flash. I use this lighting kit with and without the cyc background and have found it works great.

I already have a background for shooting my product shots so I bought this lighting system and I am so glad I did. The light it puts out is not too bright but turns out photos with perfect color replication so my product shots are great. Since you shoot without a flash it works especially well with reflective items like silverware, glass or coins. If the photo turns out too dark I found that simply increasing the exposure to +1 generally fixes it. I've also found that this lighting system works great for backlighting glass items and I've gotten some great shots. I would highly recommend this to anyone who already has their own background and just needs good lighting. Otherwise purchase the whole studio kit and you'll be set.
