It's okay, but had sharp bits in it and left my skin feeling dry. Full ingredient list in review
I love a good exfoliator and this one does an okay job. I wasn't as impressed with this tube of Borghese anti-aging exfoliator as I had hoped. I didn't like the way it felt using it or the way my skin felt afterward, and I found what may be conflicting info about some of their claims. Overall, it's not a product that I would purchase in the future. It's okay and I think it's comparable to drugstore products. This product feels like an ointment mixed with crushed walnut shells. Ingredients were added to give it an imitation gold appearance. I found the grit to be too large and sharp and I had to be very careful not to use too much pressure so I wouldn't hurt my skin. It was unpleasant and I don't have to be that careful with Dr Brandt, the exfoliator I normally use.I expected my skin to feel soft afterward, as it does when I usually exfoliate. I was surprised that my skin felt dry and tight. More than it should have.According to the Borghese website, this product contains stem cell extracts to stimulate cell renewal. However, an article from NIH (PMCID: PMC5674215) seems to contradict this."In fact, almost all cosmetic companies advertising to contain stem cells in their products actually contain stem cell extracts and not the live stem cells. Although research on plant stem cells used in skin care reveals their potential as skin protectives, antiaging and antiwrinkle products, the actual stem cells in cosmetic formulations are already dead. Extracts from stem cells cannot act in the same way as the live stem cells."The article also states that live stem cells must be able to penetrate deeply to be effective. This exfoliating product doesn't appear to contain live stem sells plus it is used briefly and rinsed off. While peptides and resveratrol are shown to be effective in some topical skin care products, it also must be able to penetrate the skin and is best used in facial serums and creams that stay on - not a cleansing product which is quickly washed off.The ingredients for this product are not shown on this website nor any other website that I could find where the product is listed for sale, including the Borghese website. Therefore, I copied the ingredients from the box. It took a while.Ingredients: Water, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Acrylates Copolymer, Bambusa Arundinacea Stem Powder, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Chloride, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-38, Resveratrol, Globularia Cordifolia Callus Culture Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Vitis Vinifera (grape) Seed Oil, Glycine Soja (soybean) Sterols, Juglans Regia (walnut) Shell Powder, Cocos Nucifera (coconut) Fruit Extract, Tocopheryl Acetate, Glycerin, Collagen Amino Acids, Adenosine Triphosphate, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Sea Salt (Maris Sal), Lecithin, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Peg-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Polyquaternium-7, Butylene Glycol, Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane, Ethylhexyl Salicylate, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Silica, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Propylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Citric Acid, BHT, Sodium Hydroxide, Phenoxyethanol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Sodium Sulfate, Sodium Carbonate, Potassium Chloride, Fragrance, Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Tin Oxide (CI 77861), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Red 40 (CI16035), Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Hexyl Cinnamal, Benzyl Alcohol, Butylphenyl Methylpropional

I was very pleasantly surprised with this exfoliator.
My wife is a big fan of Borghese's Il Bacio and so am I. I was getting her another bottle and decided to try a few of there other products. I purchased this for my wife but after she used it, she said "Give this a try, you'll like it." While I love the one fragrance of theirs I was familiar with, I didn't think it would be fitting for me. In any case, with this cleaner, the smell is clean and neutral, it's not perfumy and is so light it might as well be a unisex product. This bottle is 3.5 ounces, it's not particularly big but a little of it goes a long way. I decided to go through the whole process and do everything methodically. As soon as I moistened my face and I started to apply it, I knew I'd like it. Again you don't need much to go a long way and it's important to know, this is an Exfoliator. As such you'd expect that it might be a bit abrasive but that's not the case. It has a slight grit to it but it's very smooth. Yet it works really well.Once I ran washed my face and exfoliated, I went ahead and applied the moisturizer and noticed my skin looked a lot better in the morning. I used it twice the following day and I could feel quite a difference in my skin. My skin just looked a lot healthier and that led to everything else looking more vibrant. This isn't cheap stuff, it's a bit pricey. It's hard to say exactly where the cost/benefit tradeoff is but I can say this, my wife and I both were very pleased with it and I absolutely plan on buying it again. I think it's well worth the price
