As advertised
This is a sturdy product and it worked readily. For my purposes I need to attach it to a support arm on my desk. For this you need a tripod screw adapter or some sort.of small nub or tubing end to tighten it down to. You can find tripod screw adapters sold in packs here in amazon. In my case it screws on to the camera attachment. I show a picture, it is NOT included. I had one that came with a support arm.It has a nice long cord not simply to reach the plug under my desk but to facilitate wire management, to hide it along the length of the arm and down under my desk. Consider that in your length requirements. It's not a straight line so I needed the length.Switch on up top will supply constant power so that in my case I can connect a Philips Hue bulb to give my Hone Assistant the power to control the light with my voice. Better than going around turning everything on when someone calls me for a web chat. Obviously a Hue bulb or smart bulb is not part of the deal. This is hard plastic, beefy. I don't anticipate issues with it breaking apart. I don't plan to move it a lot either. It's a light socket. What more is there to it.

Cheap but functional
These are cheap, cheaply made, but functional in a home studio environment where they can be handled carefully. I doubt they would hold up to a more demanding environment, but for my purpose, they worked.

LimoStudio 2 Pack AC Socket Light Stand Mountable Lamp Holder, Umbrella Holder
I started recording videos, and sometime later I learned that I needed lights and a new backdrop. For the lights, I bought the EMART Tripod light stand with the LimoStudio 2 Pack Lamp Holder for using it indoor. I already had the Dailylight LED bulbs. The two head light holders were unbelievable better than my clamp lights. Easy to use, and I didn’t need to use any cord extension, even using the stand to the highest point. I’m so glad I found it! If you are just starting, I would recommend the umbrella lighting kit. Thanks

Used to make an efficient LED worklight
For less than $50 I purchased two of these and two four-LED panel directable work lights to upgrade my old dual halogen work light into an energy efficient brighter lighter worklight. These holders provided full flexibility in azimuth and elevation and only required a 5/8" post stud to mount it to the old light frame. A bonus feature was that the fixture had its own power switch. The new light is 4x brighter at 1/4 the wattage. The mount allows me to point the light at the ceiling, fold the panels down to light an entire room

Basic light holders.
I have one of these attached to a 36" umbrella and another to a 36" softbox. Both max out the strength of these sockets. I question how long they will last. The hinge joint in the middle is not designed for any significant torque like an umbrella. If they were aluminum, they would be great, but since they are plastic... They are very inexpensive. I also have a 100 W LED corn bulb in each.

Better than expected
Items are sturdy, holds an umbrella very well and keeps it in place. not too heavy, but not too flimsy. Great Item.

Purchase was a little surprising!
Just received these today, haven't had a lot of time to test them under working conditions yet.I bought two sets (four total) of these lights, one for a working set, and one for backups, they all (both sets of two) functioned when mounted on stands with CFL lamps. They seem a little delicate and cheaply made, (one umbrella set screw had hard black plastic all over the threads, which I got off with an x-acto blade), it now works like it should have.Overall, I like the style of the lights, I try not to subject equipment to rough conditions, but I'm skeptical of the durability, as some other reviewers also state, hopefully usage will change my opinion for the better, time will tell. Here's why I only gave *** 3 *** stars instead of more:The lights each came in individual boxes inside the larger shipping box. Two of the lights were in what looks like factory cellophane sealed wrappers inside the box, the other two did not have these, they were just in the boxes with some loose black tie wraps lying inside? It Sure Appears that they were opened at some point, I can't be sure if this was post Mfg, but I don't believe they left the factory like this, looks real Suspicious! I'm not going to return them, but will likely Not buy these again if I ever need replacements!

Useful for e26 bulbs and umbrellas.
These worked beautifully with PAR38 LED e26 connector bulbs and umbrellas. If fit all of my light stands and spigot clamp adapters with no trouble. Plastic construction is stiff enough for the job, and lightweight, making them a good choice for a portable kit.Over all I'd say this is a great option if you need continuous light on a budget.
