Solid saw for straight forward miter work, and relatively light weight.
Got this for its lighter weight and decent build quality. For simple straight and angle cuts it's great. Has the common click detents for angle cuts, but no way to lock in place for custom/non standard angle cuts. The shadow line feature actually works better than I expected, as I also have a Makita 10 inch 36v compound slide miter saw with red laser, but found this to be adequate. (The Makita is much heavier which was the main reason I got this) Perfectly happy with this for simple, straightforward jobs.

Perfect inexpensive saw that gets the job done!
Excellent Value and Everyday Workhorse – Metabo HPT 10” Miter Saw I’ve been using the Metabo HPT 10-inch compound miter saw (C10FCGS model) for the past several months on a mix of DIY home projects, trim work, and light framing around the house. This is a genuinely good saw that punches well above its price point. If you’re a homeowner, weekend warrior, or even a pro looking for a lightweight, no-nonsense tool for jobsite or shop use, this one delivers solid performance without the premium price tag of bigger brands. Build and Portability At just 24-25 lbs, this is one of the lightest 10” miter saws I’ve handled. I can easily carry it from the garage to the driveway or toss it in the truck for a quick job without feeling like I’m lugging around a tank. The base feels sturdy, the table is generously sized for the category, and the included vice clamp does a decent job securing workpieces (though I sometimes prefer my own clamps for tricky angles). Power and Cutting Performance The 15-amp motor spins the blade up to 5,000 RPM and has plenty of torque for clean cuts through 2x6 lumber at 90°, 2x4s at 45°, and even some hardwood trim. It powers through framing lumber smoothly with minimal bogging down, and the cuts come out accurate right out of the box after a quick calibration. Positive miter stops at 0°, 15°, 22.5°, 31.6°, and 45° (left and right up to 52°) make common angles a breeze, and the single-bevel range (0-45° left) covers most trim and crown work I throw at it. Blade changes are straightforward with the onboard wrench storage. Ease of Use Setup took about 10 minutes straight from the box. The thumb-actuated miter lock and bevel adjustments are intuitive and smooth. Some models in this line include the Xact Cut LED shadow line for better visibility (no finicky laser to align), which is a nice touch for indoor or low-light work. Dust collection is average—better than nothing, but I still hook up a shop vac for cleaner cuts. Pros: • Super lightweight and portable for a 10” saw • Powerful enough for framing and finish work • Accurate miter and bevel adjustments with solid positive stops • Great value — often available for under $150-180 • Reliable brand reputation (formerly Hitachi) with a 5-year warranty for peace of mind Cons: • Dust port could be more effective (common complaint in this class) • No sliding rails on the basic compound models, so max crosscut capacity is more limited than a sliding version • The included blade is okay for starters but swap it for a higher-tooth finish blade if you’re doing fine trim Overall, this Metabo 10” miter saw is a solid, dependable tool that gets the job done cleanly and efficiently. It’s not the fanciest or most feature-packed option out there, but for the money and weight, it’s one of the best values in the category. I’ve recommended it to several friends already, and it hasn’t let me down yet. If you need something portable, accurate, and powerful for everyday cutting tasks, this is a great pick. Highly recommended — especially if you catch it on sale! Would buy again.

Nice little saw
I am well pleased with this saw. It came well packaged and was easy to assemble. The price is great and it is quality made. I was a little concerned with the accuracy but it cuts clean and dead on. It cuts through oak with no problem. It is light weight and doesn't take up much room.

Came quickly and seems to be really good.
I can't give a complete review yet as I have just received it. I can say it arrived considerably ahead of schedule which was really nice. It was well packaged and I have already installed it in my workbench and checked it for 90 degrees true setting and it is true which tells me the cuts will be accurate. It is much lighter than my old one so it is easier to work with. One issue is it came without the blade wrench so I couldn't get my fine cutting blade on it. But I believe it is just a 16MM Allen wrench which I probably have somewhere. I think it is going to be really good. Anxious to get it all set up and start making things.

Great saw - very powerful and fast for clean cuts
Love this saw. I bought it to trim out an old home we bought and have been very please with it's power, speed and safety features. It was very easy to assemble out of box and adjustments are available for just about any angle you might want. It fits on a relatively small table so the size is right but you may need another table or some sawhorses to support long trim pieces. I felt it was a great value compared to other brands. In full disclosure, I had an earlier model of this saw and loved it but it's motor went south on me after a few months. Metabo does have a long warranty and will repair it, but the service centers were difficult for me to find when not in a large city. I ended up buying this one to replace it and will warranty the older one when I get near a big city.

Exceeded expectations.
I am very happy with the saw, it arrived well packaged. The saw was perfectly square out of the box, miter, bevel, table and fence all square. The cuts are accurate, very smooth, no tearing or splinters on pine and oak. Be aware that on first use the motor smelled and it ran uneven - after about 10 minutes the odor went away and it ran smooth. I believe the brushes needed to seat on the armature. I wanted to make some lap joints on 3/4"x3/4" stock and it first it seemed like there was no depth adjustment but upon further review I found that Metabo did thread and installed a set screw where you would find the adjustment on more expensive saws. I replaced the set screw with a thumbscrew to make adjustments easier and it works on small pieces of wood but not across the width of a 2x4. I used bolts going thru a small wood block from under my Pony bench and secured the saw to the table with thumbscrews. I added some pictures I hope are found helpful.
