Strong general monitor and even better for working. Going with 1920 x1200 over 1920 x1080 is great.
I bought this monitor after realizing that my two 20" 1080p monitors weren't cutting it for work. I work mostly in Microsoft Office, or custom web applications and I wanted something bigger and I wanted more on the screen. After doing some research I decided I wanted 1920 x 1200 resolution over a 1920 x 1080. The extra 120 vertical lines of resolution effectively allows me to have two rows of Windows taskbar on the bottom of the monitor and still have the same space above the taskbar as a full-screen window would take up on a 1080p monitor.Additionally the monitor has great flexibility it can raise or lower an amazing amount, tilt, and rotate which came in handy as I can adjust it easily for sitting at my desk or standing at my desk (with a desk riser). It also comes with every cable imaginable so there is no need to go buy separate cables or need to run to a physical store to buy a cable because you forgot to order one with your monitor. Finally, the sensor it has to detect if you're in front of the monitor and if you're gone the monitor will automatically go into low power mode. This works really well, you can set the distance you want it to sense for and I assume it actually saves power.

Best LCD I ever owned
I was a little worried about the reviews regarding the lcd panel being too bright. It is bright, but it's adjustable. At 0% brightness it's very dim (white looks like gray, but maybe that's OK if you're using it in complete darkness), but at 15% it's about perfect for working in dim light. There's 2 things this LCD really got going for it:1) Super adjustable height: You can drop it down to like 1.5 inches off the desk or jack it up to where it'll be above your shoulders. Very nice. Very comfortable.2) The gamma is spot on perfect at 2.2. Every other LCD I owned (usually samsung), the gamma was way off, and they'd never be perfect anyways even after spending waay too much time recalibrating it because the gamma changes based on viewing angle. Not with this -- it's perfect. No need to mess around.Another unsung plus is that this is 16:10 aspect ratio (instead of the usual 16:9) which makes it way better for gaming at something like 1080p -- you lose so much height on a 16:9 screen, especially if you're into playing older games that run at 800x600 res (This LCD is PERFECT for Diablo 2 or OpenXCOM!) or something like that.

I like it
I bought a 32" monitor but returned it. It was just too big for my desktop, though I am reluctant to admit it. I opted for this monitor instead and have not regretted it. I'm happy with the little bit of extra space the 1920x1200 format provides when viewing documents. The size of the text and the ppi make reading text on this size monitor superior to the 32" (2560x1140) I returned. The text on the 32" was very sharp, but also very small and I was not satisfied the windows text enlargement setting. So, great image quality on this monitor. Great array of available ports. Highly functional adjustable stand.I've no regrets.

Easy setup, works perfectly.
The USB hub for me was a very handy extra feature.

Awesome monitor, especially for office/business use.
Great quality from Philips on this monitor. Definitely one of the best panels out there for a 16:10 at 1920x1200 resolution. Very thoughtful design cues with plenty of vertical travel on the up/down adjustment, as well as a nice 4-port 3.0 USB hub, and thoughtful modes, such as EasyRead, which creates a newspaper/Kindle/e-Ink style presentation that makes reading text for lengthy periods of time much easier on the eyes. It's also extremely color-accurate straight out of the box, and as the other reviewer said, at a gamma of 2.2, pretty much dead nuts on. As good, if not better, than any Dell 16:10 panels I've ever used, UltraSharp models included, and that's saying something. A+ effort Philips!

Really great monitor!
After doing some extensive on-line research, I settled on this monitor in part due to it's 16:10 native aspect ratio, as well as it's ability to act as a USB hub. I am still a fan of 4:3 aspect ratio monitors, as I don't do any gaming or movie-watching on my computer, but they are nearly impossible to come by nowadays, and if you do, they seem to be geared toward the professional / medical market, and are outrageously priced. Hence, 16:10 was a compromise. I am pleased with the USB hub connectivity, and compared with other monitors, the information on how to use it was readily available and fairly easy to follow. Thus far, I am quite happy with this monitor. It came well-packaged, with lots of connecting cables (see photos), and the user-interface menu system was easy enough to work with, although I did have an advantage after first reviewing a YouTube video on the monitor's review. I've connected it via a mini-DisplayPort port on the desktop to a full-DisplayPort male-ended cable to the monitor.I did have a problem at first, thinking that the monitor didn't work, but it looked like there was a lag in my desktop boot-up time, and the monitor's response. After fiddling with the cables / inputs and getting it to 'work', in the end, I think it wasn't really a problem, just what looked like a problem. I hope there isn't a problem with the monitor's ports -- as I haven't used the 90-degree rotation function, time will tell .....I am quite pleased with the monitor's PowerSensor feature, which goes into 'sleep' mode when it doesn't detect a presence in front of it for a designated period of time -- great feature (as opposed to manually turning off the monitor each instance you think you are going to be away for a time). It's quite a 'bright' monitor -- I've tried to adjust the settings, and it still seems rather 'brilliant'. Not sure if it's me, the monitor, or the environment. Still more experimentation to do.The price was good, and I hope that Philips keeps it this way. I think it's a really great monitor for those fans of 4:3 aspect ratios, as well as those persons who can really use it as a USB hub. It sits level, the build quality is very good and it does the job -- really can't ask for more than that.
