I used this to upgrade an original Xbox hard drive. The cable is a good deal shorter than the original one, making it difficult to fold into place. I ended up taking the headers off and shifting them around to make it easier. If you're looking for a drop-in solution, there may be better options out there. That said, the cable works great, even with my tinkering, so it is a high quality cable.

My Xbox sat in my closet for 15 years and I finally decided to get it up and running again. This is the second Xbox I’ve owned and these things all have HDD that go bad. To fix it required me to mod it so I could replace faulty HDD to fix bios issues it had. I ordered a Sata adapter and 24” IDE cable as suggested. The cable took a week but I was impatient so I ordered these with Prime. I saw some reviews that said it wouldn’t fit but it fit with minimal folds. Long story short. The other cables came in and didn’t work. Maybe defective but these worked the first time and my Xbox is getting use once again

There are a lot of reviews saying this doesn't fit or breaks easily. I have not found that to be the case at all. The cable is fine length wise as long as you know how to fold the cable. There is a video on Youtube I watched and it worked perfectly. When I get home from work I will show some pictures. The cable has been removed and moved around countless times yet I still have not issues with the plastic ends or the cable itself. This product gave me all I needed and works like a charm.

Just what I needed! An 80 wire cable for my modded original Xbox! HDD and DVD Rom access speeds have increased by 20% on average which is great for all the games and emulators I have copied to the new 320gb 7200 rpm PATA HDD I installed. Recommended for anyone turning an original Xbox into an all in one machine with hard drive installed games.I even put one in my unmodded green Halo limited edition Xbox and it cut load times from DVD game discs by roughly 30%.Keep in mind, this cable is a somewhat tight fit, but the length is only slightly shorter than the original 40 wire and looks factory installed when folded in correctly.

If you're looking to upgrade an original Xbox, you found the right cable for it. It's a great length and does the job well. This is not for improvement, but allows for larger capacity hard drives to be used. The original Xbox is over 12 years old for the newest console. Even if you don't have a modded Xbox, I suggest you look into modding your's before your system fails with all of your game saves because hard drives fail after 5 years or so.

Did its job. Needed access to an old HDD and didn't have a cable. I dont know why it asks for a rating on stretch because none of these were ever designed to stretch.
