BLOWN AWAY - NOT EASILY IMPRESSED
Situation: I bought a new house and I set up my media room in my bonus room (audiophile speakers). Problem: I would need to watch movies downstairs once in a while, however the TV speakers downstairs were really hard to hear. In addition, I was accustomed to listening to high quality speakers (a KEF “Q” series speaker setup with a Yamaha amp). I decided to get a sound bar since my living room is probably 25 x 25 but I did not want to spend much money. I still wanted to maintain some sort of quality sound though. I came across the Sound Appeal sound bar and read many good reviews and so I decided to take the plunge after reading the design and the power rating and so on Subwoofer: I have never heard an 8 inch subwoofer that had a boom like this one does. My subwoofer upstairs is 12 inches with a 12 inch radiator and I still think the sound appeal sub hits hard! This sub is tuned well and goes MUCH deeper than you would expect and plays LOUD in my huge living room. This is a quality sub for the price, let me tell you. Sound Bar: So next is the sound bar. There is an excellent mixture of highs and mids to give a pretty convincing life like sound without ear piercing highs. The sound bar provides a smooth rich and has much fullness to the sound. Many of the sound bars that you hear at many stores seem to have a very digital sound.Only Complaints: My optical cable kept popping out since it is not as tight as I would like it to be. As you switch between HDMI and Optical or whatever selection it takes about 6 seconds. Neither are a show stopper or are a real big deal. You need to play with your TV’s audio settings in order for everything to play through your Optical cable (like your CABLE TV, streaming movies etc.). Movies – this bar pulls you into the movie as the subwoofer is tuned in a way that some of the voices come through it. I don’t think any sound bar will give you a true surround sound with its physical limitations. When I use this sound bar I don’t miss the speakers in the back because the sub is working in harmony with the sound bar to engulf you in high quality sound – which is crisps and clean… There is a night and day difference between the TV and the sound bar.Testing with Music: I would like to say that you need only to play music through a sound bar to hear ALL THE HOLES in the sound reproduction. Well, this sound bar can play music like no one’s business. It sounds incredible and this system goes LOUD; louder than anyone would ever need it to. This system goes loud while it maintains very clean sound that does not sound stressed as you crank it up. I am blown away that this system was only $300 dollars. Many sound bars system are a trade off as you get a crappy sub with a decent sound bar or a crappy sound bar with a decent sub. The quality of sound did not point in the direction that they were trying to skimp in ANY area of sound reproduction. The sound bar is quality and well as the sub which is kind of big actually. It took seconds to wirelessly pair the sub with the bar! Take the plunge, this is an EXCELLENT System…

This Soundbar with the LG-65UB9300 Television
This sounds really good ... far superior to the internal TV speaker system ... usually. Mine is optically attached to an LG-65UB9300, and it sounds awesome, when it works, which is most of the time.I assume that when the TV is not on, the sound bar goes into standby mode. Anyway, I hope it does, however, occasionally, when I first turn on the TV, it doesn't always go from standby mode to live mode, and I have to switch the sound bar from OPTICAL input to something else, and then back to OPTICAL input. In addition, sometimes, particularly with streaming, the sound bar will cut out for 3 to 10 seconds, then back on for 10 seconds or so, and then cut out again. This has also happened once or twice with a live TV broadcast. Powering off the sound bar, then back on might fix it, but one time, it was so bad; I had to use the speakers in the TV and they sounded extremely tinny (Terrible) after listening to this sound bar.My Samsung S4 pairs (blue ray) very easily, and sounds really good, but I have not used this feature very much.I also have an LG AN-MR500 Magic Remote Control that supposedly can be used to control the sound bar...but not THIS sound bar. There is a setup menu on the TV that allows you to configure the AN-MR500 remote control to control the sound bar. There must be at least 20 sound bar manufacturers listed. So you pick a manufacturer, then each manufacturer can have up to 12 different remote control models. The manufacturer of this Sound bar is not listed, so I went through every one of them hoping to find a match. Once I selected the manufacturer, I had to try each one of the remote control models to see if I could find one that might match the Sound Bar remote. This was all for not, as the LG AN-MR500 Magic Remote cannot be used to control this Sound Bar.Now the bad part. I went to the Web Site, only to find that it is a web site under construction so I have not been able to contact anyone at Sound Appeal. My work hours are such that it is much better for me to converse with people using Email, than by phone, since most people are sleeping while I am at work.Would I recommend this sound bar? I guess it depends on what the Sound Appeal Tech Support has to say, if I can ever find a way to contact them. When it works it sounds awesome.

Great overall value.
I researched soundbars for over 3 weeks to find one that offered an FM radio tuner as part of the package as well as a wireless subwoofer. I was replacing a receiver setup for my pool room. I wanted it to enhance my 32" TV and be able to stream music via bluetooth. My wife wanted to be able to just use it as a radio. It was bigger than I wanted (almost 40" wide) but I have had it for 2 weeks and LOVE it!!! The sound is amazing. There are 3 settings, Music, movie or normal. Music and movie will give you the bass you want. Normal is best for watching the news or some shows with a lot of talk. You can adjust the settings for the subwoofer to get as much or as little bass as you like. The owners manual is simplistic with it's instruction. The radio and Bluetooth worked right away. I had a difficult time getting the sound from my TV. It turns out that I have to go to my TV settings and change the audio output from TV speakers to sound system speakers. It would have been nice if the owners manual said you may have to do that with some TV's. It would also be better if there was a better FM tuner antenna. This one picks up many stations but there are a couple of our favorite stations that don't come in clearly. I am now researching TV antennae that might enhance the tuner pickup for more stations. I have a cable box with remote and the one remote turns on the cable box, TV and soundbar. The other soundbar functions are controlled by the soundbar remote. The sound is great and the power is incredible. The quality is very good, the packaging was very good and the price was reasonable making this a very good overall value.
