The little scanner that could.
Had mine for about a week now so I'm not one to speak on longevity, but for use, it's been a dream. Paired with my own applications, it is absolutely amazing for my uses. The scans are quick, easy, and accurate. Any errors (being in the computer field) I've been able to chock up to poor programming in the applications I use. As others have said, it is a little harder to set up if you don't know what you're doing but the instructions are now quite clear on what to do. Just be sure to use SPP for phones and HID for computers. It's small. Smaller than one might think. I thought it was going to be bigger but it is indeed about the size of a pack of gum you might get for 25 cents. There is a Lithium Ion battery in there so the charge lasts ages. I wish there was some form of bumper accessory that could be added around it to protect it from drops. It does not use a standard laser reader like other units do; it uses a CMOS visual sensor and two red LED lights. On that note, however, it is very fast and very accurate. More accurate than our actual laser units we have in the factory. If you do scouting, book hunting, or need something good around the office, this would be a wise choice. Love mine! Definitely one of my favorite purchases, odd as it sounds. An update! 09/22/2014 - Still running strong! I let it die off on battery for a while whilst I took a break from scanning and plugged it back in and it perked right up. Dropped NUMEROUS times and it keeps on scanning. Longevity - Great. It's already paid for itself many fold over so I have no qualms if it dies today. I would get another immediately. In fact, I will - just to have a backup.

Great Scanner, instructions need updated
Great scanner, once I got it working. I am using this with an Android phone (HTC Evo 4G, running version 4.0). The instructions tell you to pair the scanner with an Android phone using SPP and Bluetooth Connect.apk (Included on a mini CD). So, that is what I tried to do. No matter what I did, it would not work! After a couple of days of trying to figure out what the problem was ( I am fairly tech savy, so I can usually figure out things on my own), I gave up and called their tech support line. After explaining the problem, the tech said I needed to install it using HID, and that Bluetooth Connect was not necessary! When I said that was not what the instructions said, he just said "trust me, you need to use HID." So, that is what I did, and it worked perfectly the first time. They could have saved me a lot of time and agrivation by just updating their instructions!!That being said, the scanner works fine, and is about half the price of the other compact, bluetooth, barecode scanner that works with android which I was considering.

Bluetooth doesn't stay connected
The Bluetooth connectivity of this device was unstable, at best. It kept disconnecting, and was not friendly to find in a list to reconnect. It is a very pretty device - very small, and has a nice feel. Unfortunately, the function was not there. When it worked, it worked great. But if you are scanning at intervals which would cause this device to power down (adjustable, around one minute), then you might find yourself as frustrated as we were.

Slick demo product, but not ready for prime time (with Android, at least)
It's a neat demonstration product, but not practical for my needs.I was able to get it to connect to my Samsung S3 phone running Android 4.3 and my Google Nexus 7 running Android 4.4.2. But after a short timeout, it shuts down to save power. Holding the scan button 1 second turns it back on, but does not reconnect it to either device. I had to disconnect and re-pair each time, which is a tedious process involving entering a 6 digit PIN the phone/tablet dictates by scanning bar codes representing each digit.I am happy that the manual ("Download" tab at http://www.ute.com/products_info.php?pc1=49&pc2=256&rbu=5&pid=944 ) shows there's a lot of configuration flexibility. I needed an F2 prefix on scans, plus a pipe symbol (|) for EAN-128 variable-length fields, among other custom settings. My main goal was to use the scanner with Chrome on the tablet and a custom app cued in to watch for the F2 key-press. It worked like a charm, to my surprise. However, because Android thinks this is a true keyboard, it doesn't show you the on-screen keyboard while the scanner is connected, which is a killer. The barcodes I need to scan are generally in the Code 128 symbology with some EAN-128 / GS1-128 formatted. Very sadly, it was unable to scan typical shipping labels from our vendors, which run 40 or more digits. That's unacceptable for my need. But it did successfully scan shorter Code 128 codes and UPC / EAN-13 codes. It didn't seem able to scan through a very transparent plastic sheath in one test case.

Not worth it
As someone else mentioned it only scans into its own software.Other problems include that it cant be connected to two devices at once. Most bluetooth devices can do that now. Also it would keep disconnecting on its own, which might be because i got a bad one. Also really hard to change settings, i basically would reset the device.Considering the price it shouldn't be having these problems. Look for other brands.

This is a GREAT little device for keeping inventory
This is a GREAT little device for keeping inventory. I work at an outdoor power equipment company, and we have a TON of parts in inventory. This isn't necessarily a great POS scanner, but it works excellently with my iPad so I can move about our inventory zones completely wireless without bulky scanners. It's small and fits perfectly around your wrist or neck, but it also has a solid feel to it. You do have to take your time familiarizing yourself with the programming methods, but once you follow the instructions a few times, it's very straightforwards. HIGHLY recommended.
