For the "Big Kid" in all of us!
I used to read "Commando" comics whilst growing up in the 1970's. As schoolboys we would voraciously read each new comic and then swap them with our classmates. Many a rainy playtime or lunchtime spent indoors, or bus/train journey would be filled by reading the latest issues. The stories were then re-enacted on living room or bedroom floors using "Action Man" or "Matchbox" toys.I recently saw these comics were still available so I bought a couple. They are every bit as enjoyable as I remember them. Exciting storylines, cowards scorned by their comrades coming good in the heat of battle, the obligatory German soldiers shouting "Himmel!" when shot/blown up, etc, etc.All in all, a great read for the big kid in all of us blokes in our 40's who grew up with these comics. Buy them and just feel all those childhood memories flooding back!!

Classic commando style magazines, father has no complaints so assume they kept him happy over a few lunch time reads.

Action Stations!
A collection of three "Commando" stories about the war at sea. Took me back to my youth. The book arrived within the specified time frame and the condition of the article was at least as pood as the seller claimed. I'm very happy.

Ahoy, Matie! Another collection of military pulp fiction stories!
Amazon imports and sells this series of books featuring collected reprints from a UK "comic book" series from the 60s-70s. Faithfully reproduced in glorious black and white, the art is fantastic, realistic, and detailed. The stories are pretty good...from a comic book view point, each story averaging fifty or more pages. Each character has a distinctive look...some might recognize some faces from actors in the British war films of the fifties and sixties! Stories varry from somewhat believable and realistic to WAAAAY out! The enemy is depicted as cruel to cunning to absurd! And sometimes, surprisingly human and decent! And you know, no matter how bad the situation gets, the Axis forces, be they German, Italian, or Japanese, will not prevail by the end of the tale! There is a little bit of visual violence that sets these above a comic book for youngsters..This volume deals with stories about the war at sea, MTBs, Corvettes, and Submarines dominate the plots, on purpose, to bring the reader closer to the individual characters rather than a crew of hundreds! Pretty sharp on the part of the authors! I like these little books....you might too.
