I've been wanting to use gesso for a long time, but the price point of the more well-known brands like Liquitex kept making me put it off. This is absolutely a fantastic product for a beginner IMO; obviously I can only speak for myself, but I found this to be a good buy.Is it perfect? No, of course not; nothing is. It has an incredible strong, pungent chemical smell that gives me a headache if I use it too longer without taking a break. If, like me, you're sensitive to strong smells, it definitely feels like it sort of hits you in the face a bit.But I love that it's in a squeezable bottle that lets you control the flow; is comparatively affordable and, for me anyway, a good compromise at this point.

I am not a professional artist, so this gesso is good enough for my mixed media art journaling.

works great, makes the paint go on very smoothly, loved it. also good to mix with low quality paint to make it thicker without affecting the original color. great gesso at a great price love it 👍

This goes on easy and dries quickly.

I use this as a base coat for painted rocks. It goes on smoothly and gives nice coverage. I like the fact that it’s a larger bottle so that I don’t have to buy several little ones.
