No-fuss MP3 player. I'll be buying a second one ASAP!
I absolutely wish that this product was still being manufactured rather than being discontinued. What runner doesn't want an mp3 player that they can dedicate solely to running and that CHARGES 10:1. You seriously get 10 minutes of use for every 1 minute of charge. It's incredible. Sometimes, I get home from work and I want to have a relaxing run. With the Philips GoGEAR, I don't have to worry about my phone being out of battery or worry about dusting off my old iPOD that I haven't updated in years. The convenience of this mp3 player is unparalleled. Sure, you can probably score an el-cheapo mp3 player from a dollar store or some place that sells cheap, overseas items. However, this is a Philips! Although it doesn't hold the same place in music gear as it once did, you should know that this item is still an absolute steal. I love the buttons on the mp3 player..they're very responsive and easy to use especially while running. The clip stays on very well. My PC, Linux, and MAC read the USB very well, and I don't have to consistently reformat to use across the platforms. I don't have to worry about a separate program that I must consistently update and bloat my computer. I can conveniently drag and drop my tracks from my music folder into my USB mp3 drive. Sure, you don't have a screen so you can't choose your tracks, but who cares?! You'll be running..not fussing with your song selection. If you have enough time to be fussing with the song selection then you should be stepping up the pace! Do yourself a favor and buy yourself thisPhilips SA4DOT02BN/37 GoGEAR SoundDot MP3 by Philips Consumer Electronics cause you will love it.PROs:Quick chargelong lasting battery lifeno-fuss music track selection (random, forward, backward, pause, play, stop)no-fuss drag and drop music importingno-fuss cross-platformCONs:no screen (if you care about having a screen to fuss with while you run. I personally don't have an issue with this, but you might.)

Plays all day, fast to charge on the fly, fast to move music to and from
This is VERY easy to use, and it does charge really quickly, which is why I bought it.My son uses a mp3 player at work, and the fast charge lets him use a lipstick style charger to charge up on breaks when he needs to. It's fairly sturdy and inexpensive, which is what I was looking for, since it is used primarily in a work environment.I just wish it were more than 2 gigs. It's cute though, and it is very easy to just move files right over to it. It plays well and sounds good, and usually on a full charge it will go all day for him. He's happy with it. It's really a fast way to get your music onto your player, and it's small and very easy to charge with an external battery pack-those were very important to me in selecting it, and it's delivered. The headphones are very basic, they play ok, but I got him a better pair with soundproofing to use with it.

Cheap and Works Fine, When it Works
I purchased this for a Christmas present. The item was used and charged one time, then would not work or charge again. Because we were outside of the 30 day return window, Amazon online would not process a return. A phone call to Amazon resulted in a refund 'exception.' It gets one star for the item itself - one use at any price is not worth it.Aamzon gets 4 stars for refunding the purchase price.

Needs Hold Button, Otherwise as Expected
You kinda NEED to clip this somewhere--my snowboard coat just happens to have a loop near my neck--so that you don't continually bump one button or another. This needs a "hold on/off" capability and would be 5 star for the price. Not the best bass but decent when turned up loud. Kind of like the lower range of volume for prolonged sports use. You don't need to use the stupid software, just cut and paste into the drive folder. No aac playback.

Pass On It
The MP3 player while cute is definately something I wish I had not purchased. I read the reviews before buying it but thought I could easily manage the device since I'm tech savvy. But its very difficult to download music on it and I had to use two different sound players just to transfer the files. Its a waste of money! I have bought no-name brand MP3 players in the past that are easier to use than this device.

BASIC BASIC BASIC player but perfect when that is what you want
This is my 2nd Philips SA4DOT02BN/37 GoGEAR SoundDot MP3 player, not because of quality because of my own carelessness as I mistakenly washed and DRIED the first one in my running shorts by mistake LOL.The uitt works great and is very easy to charge from any USB charging port so you do not need special cables or batteries.Understand, this is a BASIC player on for those who want only a BASIC player there is no screen(to use more battery) or lots of options. You have all the basics and you can randomize your stored music. If you like to listen to a certain track when you so choose this is not the player for you. You can skip forward or back tracks but that is as much as you can do if you want a certain track.I love it for the price, size, and simplicity. I run long distance, I use the waist clip turn it on and go. Due to it's size it's not likely to break but if I tripped on a rock while running a trail and it got crushed I am only out short money unlike an iphone or something similar. (always backup the contents of the player ;-) ).
