I had another one previously that didn't blow near as well. I didn't think the remote control would be helpful to me since I just wanted to use this in my kitchen so easily turn in on. But instead I have laid up from foot surgery so used it in the living room for the last 6 months and the remote has bee so handy. After a year, that's really my only complaint. In fact, I'm pretty sure the range of oscillation shrunk after a month or so of use, but I didn't think to mark it when I first got it. **Q: How quite is this fan? I am an extremely sensitive sleeper and the slightest inconsistency in sound will drive me nuts when trying to get to sleep.** A: Is not a quite fan. Cannot to use in the bedroom, too noisy doesn't matter speed. And have a bad plastic smell. No, is not a good fan. NOT RECOMMEND. **Q: How do you clean it?** A: I just cleaned mine today. I’ve had it for like 3 years now and it was the first cleaning I’ve done. I had to go and buy a whole pack of star shaped screwdrivers. I opened it up, took out any parts that weren’t electronic (the blade, side panels inside, and the back) and threw them in the bathtub and scrubbed them. Then I took a very lightly damped towel and a swiffer duster and wiped the inside. I tried to pull any fur out from the oscillating mechanic without wiping off all the lube.
