Steven Universe: The Tale of Steven: An Illustrated Adaptation of “Change Your Mind" Hardcover – Picture Book, October 8, 2019

I have watched Steven universe since it came out in 2013! And of course I was 12 years old lol so I fell right in love with the show! I have always wanted this book and I'm so glad that I was able to finally have it! It showed up and wonderful condition it was used and had very minimal damage but never the less I am absolutely happy with this order!!!

Good book

I recently caught up to the tv series, but I haven't yet watched the movie. This children's picture book adapts Steven's story as revealed in the finale to the tv series. The artwork is simple and beautiful. The design is so creative, having the reader physically move the book to read the different narrator's stories. Just like the tv show, this book gives young readers great things to think about when it comes to perspective and identity.I give this book a 5/5. If you are a fan of the show, you will enjoy this book. If you know a young person who is obsessed with this show, this would make a great gift. For ALL ages!

Sooo I originally planned to gift this to someone, but I ended up loving it so much that I kept it for myself. I feel bad about it everyday, but I can't help but fall in love with this book everytime I read it. I bet it makes for a great gift though lol

The art is lovely, the story is great, but the book must be EXPERIENCED to truly understand how incredible it is. As always, it's deeper than expected, especially with HOW it's meant to be read. Any child will love reading this, but I also recommend any adult who likes Steven Universe snatch this one up too. It'll give you a little extra warmth and more admiration for perspective.

The reading experience was interesting and forced you to pay attention to every little part of the page. It's the kind of book I would've loved reading as a kid, and honestly still love reading as an adult. And when I got to the dedication at the end, I honestly started openly weeping. This is a great book for any fan of the show, and especially those in the LGBT+ community, *especially* those questioning gender identity. Seriously, read it. Now.

Once again, a beautiful book! I love the simplified design of the art. It's very cute, and incredibly creative. But I cannot imagine trying to read this aloud to a child. And I thought The Answer was a challenging book to read aloud! This one has three different versions of PD/Rose/Steven's story (told by White Diamond, Rose, and Steven), all competing at once to tell the story, from literally different angles. If you try to read each perspective on every page, each story becomes very disjointed. As it says on the back cover "This is so DISORIENTING!"

This book is very much meant for kids, but as a Steven Universe fan, its great for any ages. The book both summarizes the whole backstory of the main series and adapts the final episode of season five. The art style is adorable and the gimmick of flipping the book to change perspectives is fun. I love how its even dedicated to young trans kids! Would recommend to any Steven Universe fans out there.
