Q: I'm getting an AT2035, I need a way to get the XLR to USB will this mixer work?

AT2035 - that's a condenser mic, right? This mixer has Phantom Power to power the mic (we use a Behringer B-1) so yes. We are using ours to record voiceovers. Mic into XLR, USB to computer.

Q: can you use two karaoke microphones at the same time?

yes, but not recommended or not sounding very good.. the one input slot does take a plug (1/4"; 6.35mm) other than the XLR.. either type is acceptable or interchangeable.. i've tested it with a 1/4" wireless microphone receiver plug and it works fine. . the wireless receiver plug allows two microphones per a receiver unit.

Q: Can the phantom-power in xlr mic-in connection be turned off for microphones that don't require it?

Much the same question as mine. What if you have a USB mic with phantom power. Will that create "overload" if plugged into this interface which supplies its own phantom power?
