Tecmate CarbMate Twin Engine Carburetor Balancer

I've used three different vacuum guages before this, for tuning my R100GS. This is the easiest and most accurate. No guessing required. Light are clear and simple. Tune at lower resolution, then fine tine at higher. Perfect.

Although not the cheapest available, if you have a BMW Twin Boxer or a similiar type of machine with twin carbs then this is an essential for the Workshop. It is well made, sturdy and precise ,above all it is straightforward to use. Your Bike will feel so much more responsive with a steady tickover. I have no regrets with this purchase it gives me the confidence to say it will last you a lifetime if looked after.

I bought this to use with my BMW R1100 Boxer to balance throttlebodies, but you can use it for carbs also. It works great for 4cyl too, just do 1 and 2, then 1 and 3. etcMake sure your battery is charged or you will see odd stuff with the signal.Tecmate makes a bunch of good stuff. Bought this because the twinmax was dead, but seems they are being made again.

Utilise pour balancer les carburateurs

I used this to sync the carbs on my BMW oilhead motorcycle. You need to hook it up to a car or motorcycle battery to power it. I can't get to the negative terminal of my motorcycle without taking the fuel tank off though so I ended up parking my motorcycle next to my car so I could hook it up to my car battery. It worked. The terminal clamps that come with the CarbMate plug into the back of the unit via a DC female adapter. It would be nice if the company sold adapters or at least gave you a model number of one that would work with the unit so you could plug it into wall power if you wanted. The device itself was easy to use and seem to work well. My bike has less vibration at idle and at 3,000 rpm so it must be accurate.
