This was a wonderful gift to give to the Cubmaster of our Cubscout Pack. Its something he can have on his keychain for when hiking. Not only is it useful, but it's a symbol of how he leads the children/scouts in a positive direction, and is helping them to become confident, happy, caring citizens of our community. It's a very shiny compass, and whistle. The whistle also is useful for teaching our scouts how to always call for help in emergencies or if they get lost. He could also use it if there is ever an emergency when we are camping as a pack. So happy with this gift. It was also a very affordable gift. Shipped quickly as well! Wonderful gift! Compass is nice looking opens and closes well.Has nice dial and fairly easy to read.Whistle is very loud and looks good.Good quality.

The walls of the compass are a bit thinner than I expected but it's accurate and light weight. It also has nice eye appeal. The whistle is exactly as I had hoped and is made of thick brass.

This set was purchased for my 11 year old son. The whistle isn’t horribly loud (which, in my case, was good). The compass works well and he has enjoyed researching how to use it. I think it would also be a good set for more professional use as well.

I didn't like the way it closed, I thought u pushed the button and it popped open but it doesn't and the edge is bending from being so thin and closing it
