I bought this for the futon in my living room. The cover is too large for the thick futon mattress that I have (but I haven't washed it, so I am not complaining). It had a very odd smell as it came out of the packaging and took about a day to air out. My biggest complaint is as a pet owner, every hair, thread, fuzz or dust mite seems to be attracted to the cover, stick and be hard to remove. Needless to say, once I wash it I will update you to let you know how it works. Because right now I am ready to go back to a sheet that is easy to remove and wash.

This is perfect--exactly what I was looking for in color and type of cloth. It is very loose if you just cover the futon, but I also added a 2-inch thick foam pad atop the futon mattress itself. I could have even gotten a 3-inch thick pad, and it probably would fit with just a little bit of pushing the corners in as it's zipped up. The cloth itself is not thin like bedsheets--I've ended up with that type of cover in the past, and those feel cheap and tear easily when you flip the futon--but it is not so thick and stiff that it's hard to put over the futon. It took 2 of us about 5 minutes to put everything on and zip up the cover. I haven't tried washing it yet, so it remains to be seen how well it holds up to the wash cycle. If it doesn't--I don't feel like I paid too much for it.

I went through several attempts to find a futon cover that FITS my thick futon mattress! This one is great! Fits easily - didn't have to pull, tug, stretch. It's lightweight (as in not heavy like denim) but seems like it will definitely last a long while. Does not seem "cheap." I'm almost tempted to buy another one in a different color just because I'm so pleased!

At first glance, I didn't think it would fit my 10" queen futon mattress, but it fits just fine (not overly tight or loose - my mattress is supposed to be 10", but expanded to less than 7",however.). It's a good cover, but thinner than I expected. It's a twill, I suppose, but not Pottery Barn heavy. It is clearly marked "dry clean" and I'm certain it will not stand up to a washer. As extra protection for my futon mattress which will also be covered with standard bedding sheets as well as a hypoallergenic protector, it works fine for me. Gave 4 stars only because not wowed by material for the money, but in all other aspects it meets all my functional requirements. Not sure how it would hold up if used regularly alone for seating. White color was uniform.

Let's be honest: Futon covers are NEVER as nice as they look on the marketing pics, nor do they fit all futons perfectly. This one is no exception, but at least it's easy to put on/take off (so it can be washed often), it seems to be colorfast (my main issue with my last Ikea one), it's not uncomfortable, and it provides good protection – a must with little ones at home.So I wouldn't rate that as the best purchase of the year, but it does the job and it makes a tired futon look better. For the price, it surely deserves four stars.

Looks ugly, not like the picture. Very big and baggy. Can not return it as I live outside the USA and I will have to pay someone to adjust it.

Bought the burgundy color (nice deep red, true to photo), which you should definitely wash prior to placing on your futon (it bleeds). Quality is good and the three sided zipper made it soooo much easier to use!!Note that the inside edges of the futon fray like crazy during washing!! I spent more time removing the tangled threads than getting the cover on my futon!!Update 3/1/15: I looked at the packaging again and it says dry clean only...not ideal for an item that will need regular washing.I also purchased a second cover (same color, full sized) and received the wrong size in the mail. The seller was very responsive to email for an exchange, but the process of sending back the wrong size was painful. It all worked out in the end but took a long time to receive the final product.Still machine washed on the gentle cycle and the inside fraying wasn't as bad. Air dried (though not easy with such a huge item).

I think I ordered one size too large, as it has to be folded under on the edges. But it looks nice, and I am happy with it. It took three of us to get it on, mainly due to the heavy, bulky nature of the futon. The down side--it says DRY CLEAN ONLY. I did not see that when ordering, so I thought it would be washable. But overall it is nice.
