Big improvement
Although the seal on my AeroPress appeared to be sealing ok, i.e. Not dripping through, it did seem 'stinky' not sure if it was coffee bean oil or what. When I replaced the seal it was much smoother and appeared to 'press' more efficiently. So my advise would be to replace your seal when it is no longer a smooth plunge.

Works as good as a new AeroPress
I was gradually replacing parts of my AeroPress over time. I changed the coffee holder recently and now putting a new rubber cap on the plunger, has effectively given me a new AeroPress coffee maker, at a much better price than buying a new AeroPress. This new plunger works very well with no coffee escapes. Highly recommended and cost effective too.

The correct part
Twice the part of suitable for part but the proper thing. Don’t know how good or bad the suitable for cheaper parts are but do you want to take the chance. I prefer the genuine item even if a bit more costly

A GOOD REPLACEMENT SEAL
I've been using my Aeropress coffee maker for years, and noticed that the edges of the plunger gasket had built up a coating of coffee oils (?) that washing didn't remove - I am in the habit of cleaning the Aeropress immediately after making my coffee, and in all other respects this is quick easy and effective.The new gasket arrived promptly, and was reasonably easy to fit. It is a perfect fit and works very well.Quite satisfied!
