Charles Chips Original Tin

I bought this for my mother with dementia thinking the “Charlie Chip can” would bring back some happy memories. She does seem to like it! The chips are the same as I remember from the late 1970’s, and more importantly, the tin is the same.As for a review of the product, I feel in the current environment, it’s a fair deal. Nothing is as cheap as it was in the late 20th century. The tin came packaged well and the bag inside the tin was in tact without any visible crushed chips. The chips themselves have a nice very lightly salted flavor and taste fresh. I have not tried the BBQ nor the ripple chips, just the regular flat chips.The tin seems well constructed and should be very reusable. My uncle has tins from in the 1970’s, and he will “occasionally run them through the dishwasher” for a good clean. I bought a new tin for him as well 12/2022, and he plans to do the same with his new tin.I like that the metal lid for the container is well fitted, yet simple to remove. I have some arthritis in my hands, but until I went to write this review, hadn’t thought about wether it was hard to open the can. To me, that means that it’s easy to open so I did not have to think about it, I just did it. The lid does or just fall off, either. It’s just perfect.I highly recommend this, especially as a nostalgic gift for some of our “older” generations to remember the “good old days.”

One can perfect the other can will not close and you taped it even though!I paid 90.00 dollars for 2 small cans because I thought I was getting the original can!Talk about disappointing and then to have one of them will not close at allPlease advise as to what we are to do with a busted can from this order!

Charles Chips are a good all-around chip that won't overwhelm the rest of your meal. An added bonus is the durable air tight canister. It is perfect for snack storage.

Growing up in the York/Glen ROCK area we had Charles chips delivered by the bread man I think! The tins were used for toy soldiers,Lincoln logs or tinker toys. Amazing memories. I wanted to share those surprises with my great great niece and our newer family members

This was advertised as original tin, it is not. I remember back in the 60's when Charles Chips delivered to my house, my sister and me would run home from school just to get the tin off the front steps and start snacking, there was no plastic bag in it back then, just good chips. This tin is much smaller, it is not the original one period!! Thinking it was the one we remembered is why I paid the high price, but we will never purchase this item again. The chips do taste good though, just not worth the money.

We used this product extensively back in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Was great to see it back in production. Great memorabilia and tasty product as well!

I did not realize the small size of the can for the price we paid. I was also not pleased with the fact that the chips were mere crumbs by the time we received them.I bought the can of chips as a nastalgic trip down memory lane as my father always bought them around the holidays. I think the tradition will end for us. Sorry.
