Excellent when Properly Installed
These are great shutters. I bought one pair to try out, and I loved them so much I plan on putting them in every window. They are more plastic looking than faux wood. I expected that before I bought them so I did not care, but some people might. They have a chemical smell that disappears after a day. They are durable and would be hard to break. My window frame is 24.25 inches wide. I ordered the 23-25 inch wide shutter kit and had to use 11 of the 16 provided filler strips to make the shutters fit snug. The filler strips were a lifesaver. They are each 1/8 inch. So the smaller number in the width sizing options is how wide the shutters would be without any filler strips. The larger number in the width sizing options is how wide the shutters would be with all 16 filler strips.A large amount of your satisfaction with these shutters will rely on how well you install them. After doing it myself, I realized there are negative reviews here that were caused by inadequate installation rather than defects in the shutters. So here are a few tips on installation…Measure your window frame before buying these, then measure it again. One review mentions the shutters are too wide and hit the glass, preventing them from opening. If there is not enough depth from the edge of your window trim to the window, you will have to install these on the outside of the trim. If you need to, use the provided filler strips to set the shutters out far enough. It is very helpful to pre-drill holes into the window trim to prevent the wood from splitting and to make it easier to put the screws in. The screws set deep in the panels if you do not use many of the filler strips, so unless you have a thin extension for your power drill, you will have to hand screw them. Also pre-drill the holes for the knobs because the shutters are plastic and hard to screw into. There is a white latch that comes with the knobs. This latch is attached to 1 knob when you screw it in, and folds down over the other. This latch prevents the shutters from bowing open.

Plastic
The product description could benefit from some clarification. It does not make clear that the entire assembly is cellular PVC. The reference to "faux wood" is puzzling since the appearance of the finished product instantly reads as "plastic" to the casual observer.Be mindful that if you trim the material, you expose the core, which has a different, spongy appearance compared to the smoothness of the broad faces. I was able to confine my height trimming to the bottom face of the bottom rail, where the core is not visible. I would not recommend trimming the top of the top rail if you can avoid it.The shutters are white and can accept paint but, out of the box, they do not appear to have a primed or painted finish. My installation is in an upstairs bathroom where only family sees it. I would not choose this for, say, my living room.

ok for the cost but use your own white trim ...
ok for the cost but use your own white trim screws instead of the ugly ones they provide. you'll also need to add a magnetic stop to hold the shutters from bowing open

It's Okay
Looks great.Slats are so wide they hit the window preventing them from being opened more than a crack.

Measure your area carefully
The product is wonderful and it made such a huge improvement in the feel of my home! Instant upgrade. Be careful when you measure your window and if you want it mounted inside of the window or on the outside. Be sure to measure the top to bottom and side to side of your window as the actual framing may not be square (as it was off in my case). It will take some adjustments but once it is installed you're set!

Poor quality. Awful odor
Poor quality. Awful odor. No phone number to call about questions. Overall very unsatisfactory. I had to pay a fortune to ship the shutters back to the manufacturer.
