Fantastic Bow Saw
I was worried that this saw did not have a way to adjust the tension of the blade and I accidentally ordered 2 of them as well.🙄 Definitely do not worry about blade tension! The rear locking handle and slight flex of the main body applied the perfect amount of blade tension. I've only used the saw one time so far. If using the saw for 6+ hours is considered one time use. The son and I trimmed the trees and then cut up branches at the FIL's place this weekend. We both fell in love with the ease of use, the sharpness and rigidity of this saw. I didn't like the blade guard when the saw arrived and had a heck of a time reinstalling it. All I can say is operator error. One side of the guard folds for reinstallation. All in all, one of the best bow saws I've used. Bonus, mine were made in the ancestral home land of Portugal. My only concern was that I only received one of the knuckle protectors.

This is a fine saw.
I wanted to buy a chain saw. This is not, however, a chainsaw, and I have realized the value of that fact! This is an amazing alternative! For one, I am permitted to use it when the wife is away, secondly in the words of a famous cutting tool tv expert, it will keee... I mean cut. Man, this thing will cut. I am very happy with this saw, I can cut up the firewood while listening to the birds, I can hear the wind blowing through the trees, and even hear myself think. I get to take frequent breaks with no judgement or criticism. Hand cutting a pile of logs looks like hard work and this saw helps maintain the illusion without the effort. Your chainsaw might make quick work of the wood pile, but I'll still be hacking away at my stack of logs and listening to the birds while you're vacuuming and doing the dishes.

Bahco® Bow Saw #9 All Purpose - 3/4" x 36" blade
Just got the Bahco® Bow Saw #9 All Purpose - with a 3/4" x 36" blade. So far it seems to be a great hand-saw, it goes through wood with a breeze, quickly and efficiently. The handle comes with a finger/hand guard which jumps off the frame easily, but it can be pushed back on again. It's flimsy and not worth it and for this I deduct half a star from the rating. However, this does not compromise the functionality of the saw as such; and for one's safety it's better to use common sense, good judgement and protective work gloves anyway. Though light, the saw is too big to be carried around on a B.O.B. or as a backpacking & hiking tool (i.m.o.), but it will work just fantastic in any base camp & outdoor invironment where wood has to be processed. It's said this saw comes as a "maintenance free" tool, which is great, but this has still to be seen... Yes, if it holds up, it's a great saw.

Very Good saw
We had a big storm blow in with 100+ mph winds and had a LOT of downed trees. I grabbed this saw and went to town. THe All purpose blade has huge teeth and chewed through branches in the 1" to 6" diameter range almost as fast as a chainsaw. When you get much bigger you have to put a lot of thought into ensuring you don't get the blade to bind. Below the 1" size the teeth are MUCH to large and it's really tough to get a consistent cut. I actually felled a 12" tree at the base. It worked VERY well. I actually ran over this with my suburban on accident. But a slight bow to the right still works awesome... Only slight complaint I have is it would be nice to have a bit more control over the blade tension. All in all An AWESOME saw, and WELL worth the money.

An incredibly efficient saw
As other reviewers have pointed out, this is an incredibly efficient saw. I needed something to clean up brush and small trees up to six inches with a few rare cuts a little over six inches. I seriously considered the Black and Decker power lopper but the work was too far from a power source for the corded model and I wasn't satisfied with the reviews on the battery operated model. In the end I bought a Fiskers power lopper and the Bacho Bow Saw. The Fiscars will cut through branches or brush up to an inch and a half like butter. It will cut up to two inches but I find that from and inch and a half up the ideal is the Bahcho saw. I have been amazed at how quickly and easily it cuts. It think up to six or eight inches it takes less effort using the two pound Bacho than it does to handle a ten plus pound chain saw and you don't have to mess with gas and chain oil and all that. Some reviewers have mentioned that the protective handle tends to fall off and I found this to be true, but fixed it very easily by using a little electrical tape at the top and bottom. The black tape looks like it belongs there. It has also been mentioned that this saw is too big for backpacking, this is true. But if you were doing trail maintenance and had to deal with a tree too big for your Bacho folding saw this would be an ideal saw to carry in, even some distance and in many cases it could eliminate the need for an ax. It could also be handy when traveling by vehicle in the back woods where it might be necessary to clear the way. It takes no space at all and doesn't leave chain oil on the floor or bed of your vehicle. This is a very useful, very versatile five star saw.

Excellent - buy it now!
This is an amazing saw. Following a rather nasty ice storm, resulting in numerous (numerous!!) downed trees and a chainsaw in need of repair, my son spotted this on Amazon, did a bit of research on the brand, and recommended it to me. I am glad he did. It cuts cleanly, neatly, and quickly. I managed to make quick work of a smaller pine which had been uprooted by a much larger oak, as well as many smaller, annoying trees, bushes, and vines. Some folks have complained about the handle - handle, schmandle, use zip cords as was recommended by an earlier reviewing, and get to sawing that wood!

HIgh quality.

Definitely a good saw.
Very nice saw, and one of the larger bow saws. The plastic grip on the handle pops off without much effort. But it's not like it's an integral part of the saw.
