H.P. Lovecraft's At the Mountains of Madness Volume 2 (Manga)

I’ve always wanted to read Lovecraft, but the text is a bit dated so this is the perfect substitute. The Artwork is amazing and I will be purchasing any future work from this artist.

I'm so pleased with Gou Tanabe's rendition of MoM, and constantly revelling in their artwork and fantastic use of blackwork and shadows. If there were any reason to detract from these books, its for the poor penguins :'(

The second half of The Mountain Of Madness gods full on eldritch horror. With a grand war between several species of old ones and unknowable cosmic invaders. While there is far less talking in this half, the artwork more than makes up. With gloriously detailed panel after panel displaying the ancient war.While not as scary as the first volume. The setting and world building is very memorable. It is the sort of story that will stick with you long after you have finished reading The Mountain Of Madness. Just beware of any eldritch nightmares entering your dreams. -MickManga

This concluding volume of the Mountains of Madness is a fitting and cosmically beautiful manga to wrap up an enthralling tale. While volume 1 built up a great deal of tension and mystery, volume 2 is the payoff with revelations uncovered and cosmic histories displayed in some of the most visually stunning panels in any manga. The creator of this manga has taken the words and incomprehensible horrors of Lovecraft and given them tangible form in a way that still retains and honors the source material. Put simply this is a masterclass in Lovecraft and the best way to experience this story.

I haven’t been so thoroughly engrossed in something in a long time. I blew through both volume 1 and 2 in a day. The adapted prose from Lovecraft’s works is wonderfully done. And the ART!!!!OMG! The art is AMAZING! My eyeballs were ravenous with a hunger to devour page after page of these deliciously sweet eldritch delights. The way the artists in these books translate Lovecraft’s vision to the page is glorious in every detail. Strange and awe-inspiring without a doubt.I so wish Gou Tanabe would do a version of Call of Cthulhu, Pickman’s Model and The Rats in the Walls.Bottom line, if you love graphic novels, you should buy these. If you love H. P. Lovecraft, you should buy these. If you love both graphic novels and H. P. Lovecraft you are duty-bound to acquire every one of these and fill a void in your soul you only now have become aware of.

I liked it very much. This story has its own tone and setting, not like much else out there. This vintage tale still holds up today. The artwork can be a little confusing at times, when it comes to the alien anatomy, but overall pretty engrossing.

Pretty good illustrated adaptation of At the Mountains of Madness. The flashbacks of the Elder Things society was probably the best parts.If you like your book covers in pristine condition you might want to order somewhere else or pick them up at a physical store, because the way amazon delivers they usually get a little bent.

Como HQ para repassar clima de terror, meio fraca.

It came damaged, but the hassle to return wasn’t worth it. Just disappointed really.

Sehr schöne Adaption von Lovecrafts Klassiker Die Berge des Wahnsinns ... Einer meiner Lieblingswerke von ihm. Tanabe hat schon einige Preise gewonnen und auch hier gibt er sich große Mühe das Buch so nah wie möglich zu erzählen. Genial ! Der erste Teil ist eher die Einführung während der 2. Teil dann auf den Teil in der Stadt eingeht. Für Liebhaber von Lovecraft unbedingt zu empfehlen !
