The necks are standard fit. That being said, the mouthpiece fits over a piece of cork. The thickness of the cork can be different from neck to neck and the cork will wear over time. It is easily replaceable and inexpensive to have a professional do. If it does not fit right out of the box, but it should, it is an easy and cheap fix. To extend the life of the cork, be sure to use cork grease regularly. **Q: What's the difference between the yamaha 4c and the as-4c, other than seven bucks?** A: Absolutely nothing the 4c is included in all Yamaha saxophones as4c is exactly identical **Q: Comes with ligature?** A: It does not come with a ligature. I don't recommend ordering Yamaha's ligature for this, especially online. **Q: Will a 1.5 reed fit?** A: Physically, all reeds are the same size. Where things vary is with where their thickness begins, and where it ends. So yes. It will fit. The problem you run into with 1.5 reed, is control over your sound. Because the reed is so thin, they tend to squeak when you least expect it. I would not go with anything less than a 2.0, where 2.5 and 3.0 tends to work best for most players. If you can afford it, it's best experiment with what reeds you are interested in. According to where you're at with your experience, one will hit the sweet spot over another.
