Q: I know it says digital electrical timer switch, but does this make any annoying ticking sounds? my macanical one ticks all night long. thanks!

No sound! Absolutely understand and that's why I got this unit. It does make a slight sound switching on and off.

Q: how do you set it up. or program? I did not get instruction.

Press Program; Press Set for setting 1st program (the triangle before "HOURS" will blink, then press "UP" to set the hours.; After finishing "HOURS" setting, press "SET" again, the triangle before "MINUTES" will blink, then press "UP to set the minutes; Then press "SET" to set the minutes. Then press "SET" again before moving on to WEEKS, etc. Just follow this procedure for other settings.

Q: How do you go between summer and winter mode? I can get get summer mode on but how do I switch it to winter mode?

Dear customer You can press "Set" and "clock" button together to switch the summer mode on and off. When the LCD display "Summer", it's summer mode, otherwise it's winter mode. Thanks
