Book is in good condition, but I was unhappy to see the $1.99 sticker on it. Major upcharge from the price I paid.

This book was cute and would have been great as a discussion tool for thinking before acting for my kindergarten and first grade students. However, I prefer to have smaller books like this on my Kindle app so I can project the story. This makes it easier for everyone to see. This book was not formatted properly digital display. Any print that was more than two lines overlapped. This made it difficult to read a couple of the things the dad said and impossible to read the Twelve Labors of Hercules at the end of the book. I adore the way Joan Holub has successfully made Greek myths accessible to intermediate/primary children in her other series, and this series seems like a great start for young children. If you have little ones with whom you want to be able to discuss "playing strong" vs. "playing nice" I can easily recommend her book again - just go for the hard copy.

My little cousin loved the illustrations especially the ones where Hercules ka-booms things
My little cousin loved the illustrations especially the ones where Hercules ka-booms things. The only weird thing about the ebook is that the text is squished together on the second to the last page, which is the page with the most writing and the one that resolves the story. Kinda defeats the purpose of reading the book if you can't read what happens.

Adorable
Such a cute book about a little boy who isn't playing nicely/gently and upsets his little sister. After seeing her crying, he decides to fix it by playing with her. Very sweet for siblings or even for kids who might not always be so gentle when playing with others. At the end of the book is a short version of Hercules' tale.My daughter loves these Mini Myths books! Short and simple with bright and bold illustrations!

I can wham-bam monsters!
My 2 yo daughter quotes this book all the time. "I'm not nice. I'm strong." While she flexes her muscles. πͺ She seriously has the whole thing memorized. I do too and yet I'm still happy to read it to her.A very applicable lesson as we've been having problems getting her to play nice with the baby.

Fun and clever.
This was my first introduction to the mini myths. This book is really fun. My son loves to wham-bam the the monster and whomp-stomp the bad guys along with Hercules. I love how clever the book is in linking the myth to the story. It makes those repeated readings a bit more interesting.

but still quite fun to read with our kiddo
We had "Be Patient, Pandora!" as a standalone from this series and our toddler had me reading it to her every night without fail before bed.Now we read it, and this. These books are a real stretch to compare to the titular myths, but still quite fun to read with our kiddo.

Quality not great
It's a great book, but I couldn't gift it because it looked already used and beat up :(
