A sweet book about a home!
This is such a sweet and simple book about appreciating all that’s in a home. The pictures are so interesting to look at as well! I feel like every time I read this book to my children, we each notice something new on the pages! I definitely would recommend adding this sweet book to anyone’s library young or old!

Beautiful and Thought Provoking
My 3 year old and I just love pouring over this book. The text is simple and calming, and the pictures are full of detail. The preschooler loves asking questions and making up back stories to the many curious objects around the home. For me, the book is a lovely reminder that "clutter" can be beautiful. I feel a lot of pressure to be the perfect "minimalist parent" and have a beautiful austere environment with a strict toy and book rotation per the popular parenting books of our time. This book reminds me of my childhood bedroom, full of books, experiments, projects, and treasured collections. There are many beautiful ways to live, and it's funny that it took a children's book to remind me of this.

So fun to read with kids
My daughter loves to look at all the pictures and find neat things in each one! She’s only 18 months and specifically requests this book for bedtime every night:) it’s such a cozy book to read and makes us so thankful for our own cozy little house. Bonus that our house matches the one featured in the book almost perfectly!!

An Excellent Resource for Kindergarten!
First of all....I would love to live in that house!! I attended a workshop this summer on Literacy. Our instructor showed us this book...and I immediately knew it was perfect for the Kindergarten students I knew I would be getting that are English Language Learners! The illustrations are rich with detail, and the text is amazing, and exposes the students to great descriptive phrases! I will use it as a GLAD lesson. My district expects Kindergartners by the end of the year to write two or more descriptive sentences from a writing prompt plus an illustration. This is an wonderful book to launch us into the involved world of writing! Thank you Cynthia!

Love the illustrations and the message about home
I first checked this out from the library and loved reading it to my daughter. The illustrations are beautiful and the message about home being a place where you gather and eat and connect and live your life with all the messy, cozy, splendor of life is exactly right. I plan to give to a friend as a gift when they move into their new home.
