Works surprisingly well...
First, positioning of this item is all. Get it right and your gate will be caught as it is swung toward this keep.In my case, this meant mounting it on a piece of 50mm x 50mm timber on the brickwork. It just takes a littile thought to mount it and it will work a treat. I also greased the spring as it looked like it might rust, but as the unit is quite cheap, I guess that's to be expected.

Works very well
This is a simple solution to keep a door open.My front door has a self closing hinge for fire regs. When carrying bags or heavy items it was a nightmare to negotiate. This door stopper works a treat. Easy to install (took 20 minutes) A previous review said the small screws for the hook nose were not strong enough. So far l have not found that to be the case and it works fine. A cost effective simple solution. Highly recommended.

Works very well
I bought two of these to hold doors open. Very effective, hooking nicely under the door handle. Easy to fit. I’m pleased with these and would buy again. No need to drill the door.I replaced the two self tapping screws that adjust the hook with slightly larger ones as I felt the ones supplied were a bit small.Bear in mind that this hook protrudes from the wall so it’s important to consider where you mount it, especially if you’re using it with a glass door. It’s worth fitting a doorstop to avoid the opening door crashing into the hook.Note- these are posted from France. On arrival in UK, the package was delayed in Customs.

Really good
These are easy to fit and look good. They are discrete and sit neatly behind the doors when in use. I have had the doors fly open and these have caught them well, without the doors closing again. I’ve liked them so much, that I’ve bought a matching set for the other side of the house b

Poor Construction and Materials - not fit for purpose.
I bought this item to hold back a loft door when swung down. The design idea is good because its spring loaded lever should spring down and automatically grab and retain the door. The construction of some of the critical parts, however, is very poor. In particular, the upright, quarter circle shaped door-retaining fixture is badly made, in a material and specification that is not fit for purpose. The retainer is made from a plastic material which will not stand up to the repeated forces and knocks it will receive from even the lightest door. Tts retaining holes are approximately 4mm - the same size as the self-tapping (they look like wood screws) supplied to retain the bracket! It doesn't take an engineer to point out that the holes for 4mm self tapping screws must be smaller than the screws to give them material to bite into - the screws barely hold their own weight, let alone provide the necessary force to hold back a door. The retaining bracket should be made of a more resilient material, such as the plastic-coated steel used for the other components, or shaped aluminium with proper tapped holes and set-screws. If this had been a cheap mechanism I would have been tempted to modify the retaining bracket, but at the time it cost over £20 and the retainer would still be made out of plastic, unless I spent hours making a metal one with properly tapped holes. I have returned this item as not fit for purpose

Perfect for lift door
Had an internal lift fitted for my wife. The door closed by itself and caused problems. The gate stoppers were set so that as the door opened it caught on the stopper until the door was requited to be closed. No need to bend door to release or press down with your foot. Really happy with purchase.

Does the job - but with qualifications
- Expensive product -- poor vfm.- On the other hand it's the best I've seen for doing the job it does; in particular it doesn't require drilling into the frame of the door.- As other reviewers have said, the triangular bit at the front, with the ramp, is held in place by a couple of screws that are held in the softest plastic, so they have to be "tightened" extremely lightly -- they are almost guaranteed to strip. I put an extra nut and bolt in the groove behind them to stop the ramp from slipping along the rod. Stupid design.- It's quite fiddly getting screws in and locating it precisely. On my French doors, one side has the surface that clips in on the outside of the door, and that works fine. On the other door though the relevant edge is on the inside, meaning that the whole thickness of the frame has to be accommodated between the ramp piece and the back. It works, just, but is awkward -- it doesn't slip along the ramp so I have to open it manually to put the door in place, rather than just pushing it in as on the other side. I suppose that isn't the clip's fault, but it'd be easier if it weren't all so fiddly.- To get the spacing right (and in particular to accommodate handle) I had to mount it on a wooden block, and I fixed that to the wall. That way though is easier than trying to fix this thing to the wall with any kind of precision. Measure carefully first!
