Reliable kettle
We got this kettle in 2020 when all the restaurants were closed and we had to travel cross country using dehydrated food. This kettle is full-size, but it traveled well in the car. There is no glass, so it’s not fragile. It’s now 5 years old and I use it about 4-6 times per day. This is the best and easiest to clean kettle I have ever used. The water heats up fast, the volume of water is good, it’s quiet, nothing is rusting, and the water chamber inside does not have any thing that would impede cleaning. Occasionally, I boil vinegar to get rid of calcium deposits, which does the job easily. My kettle is probably my favorite small appliance, if it broke right now, I would replace it with the exact same one.

Excellent product
We have had a few hot water pots over the decades but this is my favorite. I like everything abt it & we use it multiple times/day. So great for advance hearing water to start pastas or aid in cleaning stuck on foods in pots/pans. Highly recommend. Great product . The manufacturer even took an adjustment suggestion from their previous model & incorporated our change. Fantastic. You can’t go wrong.

Heats fast. Has a 2-cup minimum. Blue-light LED.
Great pot. Heats very quickly.Does require a two-cup minimum—so order a different size if you only make ‘a little each time’?The blue-light LED is not good though. Please make it red. Blue light disrupts healthful sleep patterns by lowering melatonin and increasing cortisol.Overall great product.

Excellent Product
I particularly like the capacity of this item. It holds enough water for 4 mugs of tea and heats up fast. The handle is comfortable to hold and the spout pours smoothly.

Burning plastic smell
This kettle looks nice. It boils quickly and pours easily with no drips. The interior is one seamless stainless steel surface. The kettle is stable and stays cool on the outside. The lid is spring-loaded and feels solid. The opening is large enough for a medium-sized hand in case you want to clean the inside or boil hands. The setup instructions say to boil and discard water twice. I would recommend to do this three times, since I found the third boil still seemed a little funky. After this, the boiled water has always been clean of any unwanted taste or smell. The kettle is about 20% wider and taller than other 1.5L kettles I have owned in the past, which is not a problem, but was unexpected. The auto-off works but takes a while to activate, probably because the switch is at the bottom instead of the top. As other reviewers note, there is a small bit of plastic in the lid hinge, but it’s so small that it’s hard to see how it could cause any real water contamination. The end of the power cord isn’t held securely by the base which makes it surprisingly annoying to move the base since the cord won’t stay locked into its channel. It also somehow feels slightly too long when unwound halfway. If this kettle worked the way it did the first few weeks, I would give it 4 stars and a solid recommendation. Unfortunately, as several other reviewers have reported, after about three weeks mine started to smell like noxious burning plastic coming from the handle when the kettle was on. The stem of the on/off switch also changed from clear to cloudy, which I’d guess is related. Since this seems to be more than a one-off problem, it is hard to recommend this kettle at this time, since my #1 rule of kettles is to not burn down the house.

good price, good build
(minor) cons:- thick electrical wire and plug sticks out from socket 8-10 inches; instead of forcibly bending the wire at the plug (and possibly damaging it over time) I went ahead and replaced the plug so that the plug/cable remains close to the wall (replacement plug: https://www.amazon.com/5-15P-Replacement-Right-Angle-Assembly/dp/B077GGYTQH)- not insulated; unlike 'cool to the touch' kettles this one will get warm with use; for occasional use (ie, unit has time to cool down between uses) this should not be a problem; for extended/repeated use the outer wall and lid could get 'too hot to touch', ymmv; for me this really isn't an issue but I wanted to make it clear to potential buyers that this is *not* a 'cool to the touch' unitpros:- sits solidly on base (does not wobble)- heavy electrical cord- no exposed plastic for water to come in touch with- interior is a solid piece of stainless steel (no seams to leak)- double-walled (but not insulated); this tends to keep the outer wall from getting 'too hot to touch' (with occasional use); see related 'con' (above)- plastic oval on lid is nice touch; allows closing of lid without touching potentially hot metal lid- opening is wide enough to get my hand into the unit if/when I need to clean itunknowns:- these (relatively cheap) kettles typically die on me after a couple/few years when the switch burns out; this unit has some good design aspects so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping the same designers put a (relatively) heavy duty switch in the unitAfter a week of ownership (~30 uses; boiling water for mug of tea; occasional cup of instant-soup/instant-oatmeal) I'm happy with the unit.
