A quilter's dream!
This pressing pad really works! Smooth seems and no wrinkles.I was a doubter. I had heard of these wool pressing pads and didn't think it would actually make a tangible difference. I gladly admit I was as wrong. When my wool pad arrived (promptly and in mint condition) I tested it out, using scraps which had been bunched in a bag for more than 5 years. The wrinkles came out completely. No starch, no water, no steam. I performed the same test on my ironing board: wrinkles still visible and the cotton felt rough and bumpy when I ran it between my fingers. My second test was on seems. The seem ironed with the felted wool pad was completely smooth! The annoying little bump that bulges up from the bulk of fabric, when ironed with the ironing board, was completely nonexistent. Incredible! The size is perfect! Really large enough for any quilt square I have, yet small enough to be eminently portable. So much better than my squeaky ironing board.Great buy. Great quality. Great value.

Designed By A Quilter
I heard an interview on the "Just Wanna Quilt" podcast that convinced me that this would be the best wool ironing mat on the market. And it is! There are many wool mats on the market and their quality varies a lot. The designer of this one is a quilter who researched the best mix of fibers for this product and had it manufactured to her specifications in the U.S.And her customer service is great. I had a question about appropriate heat settings when using the mat since wool fabric usually needs a lower temperature than the cotton or linen setting I use to make my patchwork. She answered my email promptly: the mat can take any heat setting that my iron can throw at it.Some users have reported a wooly odor when using this mat. I have not noticed any odor at all, but I only use a dry iron when quiltmaking. (I find that steam can distort my blocks.) However, with this mat you will not need steam to get your seams perfectly flat. My seams are crisper and flatter than they’ve ever been.I am perfectly happy and satisfied with my purchase.

Great Customer Service!
Great, friendly and helpful customer service! I Was experiencing some issues with my iron, not my wool mat, but needed to rule out some things about the mat and the person I chatted with via Instagram was super helpful, understanding, and had some great suggestions. She even messaged me two weeks later to make sure my issues remained resolved. There were never problems with my mat but they wanted to make sure I was still loving it vs struggling with my iron. (I ended up buying a new iron). I keep the wool mat on my sewing table at all times, and I use it for quick presses, which is like 90% of what I do. My seams are flatter than what I can achieve on the ironing board. So satisfying!

Impressive!
I am impressed. I bought this for the pure convenience factor of not having to run up and down the stairs every time I needed to use the iron for my rather large appliqué project. This mat is great quality, the perfect size, and the seams are so flat it’s not even funny! I’m so happy I bought this. Best part, made in the USA!

Great for quilt blocks
I ADORE this thing (so do my cats). When pressing quilt blocks, I was so impressed with how the blocks come out, makes it lie flat much easier and with less heat from my iron. There is only a very faint sheepy smell which doesn't bother me at all, and I am someone who is bothered by a lot of smells. Overall, I am thrilled with it.

A-maze-ing!
If you are a quilter you need this! I was a diehard steam girl. With this wool mat there is no need to use anything except Best Press if it's required for your project. I do mainly fpp projects & this has cut my pressing time by at least half. Fabric lays flat & smooth. Mine has no smell & fits perfectly by my machine for easy access. Best $30 a quilter could spend.

Turn ironing into the fastest step of your quilting process!
TIP: Ironing without steam keeps most of the sheepy-smell at bay. :)I’ll be the first to admit that I hated ironing my seams open from the very beginning. Honestly I felt like my ironing board would keep my seams floppy out of spite - it took forever for me to get things pressed passably flat.I ordered this mat when I needed to buy a mini iron for some on-the-go sewing I was planning to do on vacation and it immediately became my must have quilting tool. Ironing dozens and dozens of chain-pieced patches goes SO MUCH FASTER. And I can keep the 14” mat right here on my desk so I don’t have to go to the laundry room every time I need a new seam pressed. Very happy! Thank you PWM!

loving the crisp, flat seams!
I had received a little square in a quilting box and really liked it but with such a little surface area I really wanted to get a bigger one. I just felt like my ironing board was a little bow shaped and the pad was flattening and I really wanted crisp flat seams. I finally gave in and ordered one and my only wish is that I had a bigger one to press an entire quilt section like an ironing board. It does have the wool smell to it if that bugs you but I live on a farm so it's all good!
