Q: Why did you choose this camera?

Several reasons: First, it is a Nikon, the Rolls Royce of cameras. I have had only Nikons ever since I bought my first F2 in 1972. Second, because it has the same megapixels and processor and features as the more expensive D600. So, with very little investment you get an almost professional camera.. Thirdly, It is light, small and very convenient to carry around. Fourth it is extremely reliable, as stated before, is a NIKON. That says it all. Good luck and greetings from Colombia.

Q: Can this camera save images in 'raw' format? If so, is it easy to both set it and KEEP it shooting in raw? Or do you have to reset it every time?

Yes, the D3200 will Save in RAW (12 Bit), and also in RAW + JPG simultaneously if wanted. Settings are remembered when the camera is turned off. Image Quality Settings are easy to access via the Info Screen (without having to navigate any menus) and/or you can assign the "FN" Button (programmable) to quickly switch between RAW, RAW+JPG, and the various JPG Quality Modes.

Q: Heard the 18-55 kit lens doesn't match up with well with sensor, which lenses do match up?

The kit lens is adequate, but it takes superior optics to "match up well" with 24 megapixels of resolving power. Lenses which outperform the kit lens include fixed-focus Nikkors--the 35mm f/1.8, the 50mm f/1.8, the 50mm f/1.4, or the 85mm f/1.8--which are less expensive than the zooms and typically very sharp. You'd prefer the autofocus models which work with the D3200, with an AF-S suffix. The older models are half the price, but you'd have to focus them yourself--no easy job with modern viewfinders.To see the difference between the kit lens and the better Nikkors requires some investment in technique, too. You'll want to stop down about two or three stops for better edge resolution and greater depth of field, use a high shutter speed, a tripod, or electronic flash to eliminate motion blur, have contrasty, raking lighting that brings out texture in your subject, shoot RAW to get high-bit image files, and do your own postprocessing, in which the last step will be sharpening by any of a number of methods to produce brilliant, crisp photomurals which will stand up to examination with loupes and linen counters.You'll probably end up finding that better technique will produce 90% of the gains in apparent image quality, and better optics about 10%.

F stop wont get to 3.5. Anyone else have this issue or know how to solve it? Even in manual mode it wont go further then f/4
