Like it better than my Leathemans
I own and have owned (and lost) many multitools, I currently have this one as well as 3 other multitools from a brand everyone knows, and I've also owned 3 other expensive multitools from that brand in the past that I've lost over the years but used lots, two of the ones I have now and one of the ones I lost cost 2x as much as this one or more (one I have now was a lot more than 2x) as well as a couple of cheaper ones that broke years ago. I really love this one from SOG, in fact I was shocked how much I liked it as soon as I opened it. Unlike the other big name expensive multitools I have, this one opens and operates so easily and smoothly, the "compound leverage" as they call it works and makes opening and using this smooth as butter. The needle nose part of the pliers are precise enough to tweeze your eyebrows with - literally, but they're still really heavy duty and strong. The one other multitool I have that is this beefy cost me $160, and the needle nose pliers aren't quite as precise as this SOG's are, it's a lot harder to open and close, and it doesn't have the crimpers this one has, which I like. Two things I would like to see on this that would make this the undisputed best multi tool ever: 1. I would love it if the wire cutter blades on this one could be replaced similar to how they are screwed in on Leathermans and replacement wire cutter blades can be bought and easily replaced, this would make sure this thing will last for many, many years even if you use your wire cutters a lot 2. This is just a personal preference but some Leathermans like the Wave + have the tools accessible while the pliers are closed, they open from the outside of the handle rather than the inside, which is nice when you need your knife or a screwdriver real quick you don't have to open the whole thing up to access it, you can just pull it out and use it. If SOG upgraded this model with those two features, I would absolutely buy another one right away, in fact I honestly like this tool so much I'm going to write to SOG and recommend they implement those two changes into this thing and if they do I'm going to buy one. This thing is already awesome and I use it every single day, I carry it daily and it replaced my more expensive multitools as soon as I got it and saw how much better it was than anything I had previously. In fact when I opened it I was so surprised at how nice it was, but then I realized I've bought a few SOG fixed blade knives, as well as a machete, an E-tool (entrenching tool, if you don't know, look it up) as well as a little folding saw over the years, all of which I used quite a bit while hiking, and I realized everything I've ever bought from SOG was really well made, stood up to lots of use and sometimes abuse, was really well priced, and made in the USA. You can't beat that, and that's why I feel like writing to them about what I think would make this the best multitool on the market, and maybe if other users agree with me they'll either offer those things on this model or put out a new model with those two features, which I would love to have.

HIGH QUALITY, SOLID, DEPENDABLE, VERSATILE
Can't argue with build quality - this is one TOUGH TOOL. BE SURE TO HAVE YOUR NAME ENGRAVED ON THIS somewhere because they are so awesome, they sometimes grow legs and walk away! My son has one (Army) and my wife has one (Navy). They both treasure them and keep them on their person at all times. If I was stranded on an island and could have only ONE item with me - it would be my wife, but the SOG tool comes in a close 2nd. :) I am concerned with SOG customer service though - I sent 2 emails and left a voicemail and NEVER got a return call. There was not a problem with the tool, I just wanted information on switching out one of the tools (which would have helped me avoid some mistakes I made later, but no damage). By the way, replaceable tools are a GREAT feature. This tool can be easily disassembled for cleaning or replacement of broken tools. I took it apart because my Navy wife wanted Scissors AND a VCutter, which are NOT sold together on any tool. We ordered the VCutter by itself from SOG and it arrived quickly (although shipping was a bit steep for a tiny part that could have been slipped into a first class mail envelope for less than a buck). We had to locate two allen head wrenches to disassemble the tool, but that wasn't too bad. BEWARE, you CANNOT switch out any tool for any other tool! The tools are different widths and different lengths, so you need to be careful to switch ONLY tools of the same widths (or use a narrower replacement with your own spacer washers) AND same length or shorter replacement because the plier head folds into the handle so the tools on each side must be sequenced with SHORT tools in the middle to accommodate the "needle" point of the pliers nesting into the handles. It was a bit tricky re-assembling the scissors (Kudos to whomever made the great How-To You Tube video!) and it took patience and steady hands, but we re-assembled the entire tool with the Vcutter in place of a bottle opener. Because the VCutter is a bit longer than the bottle opener, the tool does not fold ENTIRELY closed, but folds almost closed and fits into the sheath fine. My wife is okay with the compromise so she can have her VCutter and Scissors (and a host of other tools!). The tool works great and feels exceptionally solid in the hand. The tool locks seem serviceable, and the gears on the plier head can exert tremendous force (more than any regular pliers!).

The Single Most Badass Multitool I've ever owned.
I was a Leatherman guy, until I ordered this thing. SOG gets a bad rep for using mystery steel in their products, but as far as this thing goes, it doesn't even matter. It is the most solid, hearty, and well-made multi I have, and probably will ever own. Pros: - A large range of versatile tools, including a great pair of scissors and a 1/4 inch drive which I found will work in 1/4 inch sockets if inserted diagonally (and used sparingly in force) - Factory-sharp knives that would make your mother cringe. - Tool-covers for added handle ergonomics, which make squeezing the arms painless. - SOG's patented compound-action plier (or whatever they call it), which eats for breakfast things most other multitools choke on. (However, be careful to use the inner-most part of the cutters when tackling harder materials, otherwise you'lll pit the cutter blades) Cons: - Because it is made of mid-grade steel, (as mentioned before), the cutter blades can't take a whole lot of stress. I got a tad overzealous with the compound-pliers and tried to tackle a few tasks that my Leatherman Wave had trouble with. I ended up pitting the blades. The good news is, the cutters are built with "hard-wire cutters" located at the inner-most part of the pliers and indicated by a slight dimple in the blades. I found that this portion of the cutter can take almost anything on from high-gauge wire to screws to thick keychain split rings (which did my Leatherman's pliers in). The other good news is that after explaining this to them them, SOG has shipped me a warranty replacement pliers module. - The tools do tend to stick to each other when opening. Not a huge deal, but some mind it. - Tool-covers do tend to get annoying, and like to pop out of place if you accidentally pull at the wrong end, but they do make the grip a lot more comfortable. I would definitely buy this product again. That is, when this beast decides to give out on me. Buy it!

Quality but don’t trust the locking mechanism
It is a good tool that I will carry every day because it’s probably the nicest multitool I have and I need one. One of the major selling points was the fact that it locks. However, it is definitely not trustworthy. I found myself doing something that anybody would do with a folding pocket knife, and I wound up with a sliced thumb that realistically could probably use stitches. It is still a well-made tool and I will continue the carry it.

Reliable, durable, great pliers.
I have had this product for a few years now. It works great still. I partially ruined the wire cutters by cutting dozens of pennies..... cough cough for educational purposes.... They still cut it just takes a little more force, they could probably be sharpened. The way the mechanics are designed it gives you way more force than most styles. You are able to open and close it one handed by flipping it with an dramatic wrist movement. The knife is only sharpened on one side and is not amazing, the file is a little dull. also, its hard to get some tools out. However, It has earned 5 stars in my book because it always does what I want it to without any problems, and it still works perfectly over 5 years later. The pliers/cutters are by far the highest quality feature on this tool. If you wanted it as more of a knife, look elsewhere. Btw, the locks take a little work to get to line up with the tool you are trying to use sometimes.

great multitool for the money
This multi tool has seen a lot of use of the year that I had it. I used it every day at work or when I need to make a quick repair, it has all the basic tools to help you out of a jam. I customized mine to have the wire stripper, fuzewell spike, and v-cutter because the saw is great but don't use it often. The scissors work but not like victorinox and they tend to jam a lot, the knife while it did come very sharp lost its edge quickly. every other tool is ok but the screw drivers are too short for some uses, you also have to be careful not to unlock the tool you are using. but its better than nothing and I learned to deal with its little quirks. The pliers and wire cutters are my favorite because the plier head has such precise tips doing tiny work like making a metal model so much easer to bend the tiny tabs compared to regular pliers. The wire cutter is great it can cut a Penney in half with little effort and works great when cutting wire, I only used it on 24-12 gage electrical wire so I don't know about other types of wire like steel cable. so its a great tool for the money the ability to replace any of the parts make it great tool that will last a long time

Excellent
If I could give it 10 starts I would!!!!! I’ve had my pair for at least 4 years and just recently purchased another pair to give to a co-worker as a gift. I use them every single day! If I have my pants on my pliers are on my hip. They don’t slip AT ALL! Literally the best tool i own. You never go wrong when you go SOG👍💪 pic below is my 4 year old pair

Carry it everywhere
As I would expect from SOG, this product is top notch. I carry it everyday and use it for everything, it's indispensable. The pliers/cutters are by far the best part of this tool, very strong grip and easy to use. If I had to make a critique, when I first got the tool all of the pieces would open when trying to get one particular tool out because it was too tight. It has since loosened up a bit and it easier to get out the single piece that I'm after.

Bad handling
If you want to use a knife you have to open the pliers remove a cover protection and only the you can access the knife or any of the other parts. If you remove the protection the pliers hurt your hand when squeezed...

Reliable tool
I have used these tools for many years and prefer it over Leatherman. It may be just preference, but The extra clamping force helped me few times already. The choice of attachments is also what I need most, so it is not bloated and it is made from with quality material.
