Q: will these grow in Michigan? Will they grow in the shade?

I'm sure they'll grow any place in Michigan as they are zone 3, 4. They as well as most herbs like full sun but may tolerate part sun with enough light. Very easy to grow.

Q: Are your seeds true Tanacetum vulgare not Senecio jacobea, Tansy ragwort? Will deadheading it affect its bug repellant qualities? Thank you, Maria

Hi Maria, I am not sure what type my Tandy plants are. They have small button type flowers if that is any help! No I dont think deadheading the flowers makes any difference. The leaves have the strong scent. I think this it what deters most bugs.

Q: I received the wrong packet of seeds, not what I ordered. How can I get the correct seeds, as this is non returnable?

You need to contact the place that you ordered the seeds from and tell them. Since they sent the wrong seeds it is up to them to either refund your money or send you the correct seeds. If they are reputable they will be very anxious to correct this for you....but you have to notify them!

Q: Do they help repel house flies?

Yes, they repel flies, mosquitoes and, as to ants, it is said "tansy makes ants nervous!" According to herb experts tansy is the single best herb to repell flies of all kinds plus they have pretty yellow flowers! I think the ferny foliage is attractive with or without flowers. They have a chrysanthemum-type odor but it is not really strong such as marigold would be.
