As the founder of the legendary rock band, Boston, Scholz has proved himself to be a brilliant songwriter, producer and accomplished multi-instrumentalist, selling 20 million copies worldwide of their debut self-tiltled platinum album in '76, to the release of several other platinum albums throughout the years. Although Scholz co-produced and played several other instruments in Boston, he's most widely known for his notable guitar work and distinctive tone, especially in the their first album. Tom's hotrodded vintage Les Paul is a key contributor to the coveted Boston sound , with a voice and demeanor unlike any other Les Paul.Aside from being a talented, well-rounded musician, Scholz graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a bachelor's and master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
