A/C PRO OE-1 Evaporator Odor Eliminator-8 oz.

My 2002 Silverado had a very bad musky stench coming from the vents, smelled like vomit at times. It would be really strong when the a/c was running and some when the heater was run but mostly with the a/c. I even considered trading the truck on a newer model because it was so bad. After researching I found that some years around the early 2000s GM used a different supplier for their evaporators and they didn't spray them with the anti-mildew/mold coating. Apparently its a common problem(not just in GM). To replace the evaporator would have run over $600 so I looked for an alternative. This product fit the bill. I followed the instructions, which takes about 30 minutes to treat, you have to run the vehicle for a while after spraying. It worked great and I'm convinced this is the stuff used car lots use in their cars. Only bad part is that I've found it doesn't last very long, maybe 6-8 months. I guess however long it takes for mold/mildew to grow. I just recently bought another can, if I have to spend $20 a year to keep the truck from smelling like puke, its a small price to pay.BTW, on my truck the a/c drain tube is located on the passenger side fire wall.

Didn't purchase this product here, and am very happy I didn't. I found this product at Autozone for $7 (after tax). What a joke of a product! I really dont mond the smell of it cleans the evaporator, but the problem was that upon releasing the product out of the can, the product turn in liquid not even 2 second later, therefore, I am confident the "foam" action that supposed to reach the evaporator, didn't even reach half way. The foam turns to liquid so fast it is useless.I wouldn't pay $7 again for this product let alone $21.56 on Amazon.I did keep the hose that the can came with so.......I went to Home Depot and bough a can of evaporator foam cleaner which was about 17oz at the cost of $6. This HD produce foamed for much longer (about 30- 40 second) which gave the foam more time to reach the evaporator (car). I did used the hose from the kit which was the only good part of buying that awful kid.Hope that helps!

I bought this from a local parts store and it eliminated the odor for the most part. However the unintended,more beneficial side effect was that it appeared to clean the evaporator coil and now the AC in the car gets colder. I've done this on two vehicles so far, one with a cabin filter, one with out and it worked great at cleaning and getting colder air.

I bought this but I couldn't use it because I have to take out the a/c unit to clean as the instruction suggests but I live in an apt and I have a 20000 BTU unit which weighs a lot.

I tried this product to get rid of a slight smell of mildew in my car. I was uncertain about the wording of the instructions and emailed their tech support via their website. I gave my phone # and email addy. Its been 5 days and no response. I followed the instructions someone posted based upon their experience with this product. Now, my car smells like it was soaked in Windex with a "background" smell of mildew. What a waste of money and time.
