It's not velvety like a Santa hat.. more like a long haired cat. haha! I used it to make my daughter a cat costume. She looked like a Yeti! (a cute Yeti)

It's fluffy, almost like real fur, it has a bunch of hairs that are like an inch to an inch and a half long. Very soft and pretty.
