The Art of Theatre: A Concise Introduction

I was originally scared to order this book for my class since the reviews said at first that it did not have all the chapters in it but found afterwards it did. To the ones who said this did not have all 16 chapters, only the Then and Now has 16 chapters, this is only the concise introduction which even the book is only 12 chapters. Make sure you get the correct book since both books have similar covers and both start with The Art Of Theatre. The only real difference is that the Then and Now has more chapters.

Im taking a college Theatre class and my instructor has chosen to use the book. He is basing all of his tests off of this particular title ad author so it is imperative that I read it. Thankfully it is easy to comprehend and has spotlights that define important figures and moments in history related to theatre. This book only has 12 chapters in it, therefore I would not recommend it as it is not the full version and will not get you through theatre class. what a rip off!

This textbook has really help me for my class. It helps you with defining words and and history about the theater. I really recommend it. Is really helpful

I rented this book for my drama class this semester and was very excited when it came in the mail. However, it was the wrong version! I received "The Art of Theatre: Then and Now". The bar code sticker on the back even said "The Art of Theatre: A Concise Introduction." Obviously this book was mislabeled... My professor specifically said we must have "A Concise Intro" and that the other versions won't due because the chapters are different. I've sent it back and will be order again because this is my cheapest option. We'll see what happens and I'll probably update this review! 👍

I purchased this book for a online course at the university and I am enjoying the read . If I knew Theatre was all that I have been reading, I would have been a Theatre Major. Very interesting reading!

It is ok. Had to have it for a drama class. I like it ok I guess. It is a textbook.
