Beautifully made plate. It is definitely chip and scratch resistant. While washing it by hand, I have carelessly hit it up against the sink, and to my surprise it is in perfect condition. Also, when nested with the other Pillivuyt plates, the inside does not get scratched. Metal utensils do not leave ugly gray scratches on it. Quality porcelain without a doubt. This plate goes with either the 10-oz coffee cup or 8-oz chocolate cup.
