Effective and Safe, but has limitations.
I used this for a 2001 Miata spring.It worked, but it twisted/leaned to one side and bound on the washer and guide beam on the jack bolt side.I got it unseized by using a scissor jack on the tighter side in centimeter increments to push the two halves apart along the jack bolt.Maybe I used this for the wrong spring, but the instructions are very vague.Okay product for the price; far better than the auto parts store rentals. Does have a safety collar you can slide over one side in case something lets go.

Does not clamp evenly.
Heavy and awkward to use. Used it on my 1999 e320 4-matic wagon and it twists and bends which makes it difficult to remove.

Doesn’t work well on small cars. Gets twisted while clamping. Completely ruined

For safety make sure that you have the main body on it towards your body
The tool works as advertised but the all thread does bind if you’re not careful
